Yes. Signing JUCO's in the early signing period is a whole different story.
If GMac can bring in 3 studs that can start for this team right away... great! I'm all for it.
I'll believe it when I see it. Because we basically need 3 more starters folks. We lost CB, MG, Ham, and Staiger... all 4 guys started for us. So really, we need 4 starters, but I'll go with 3 to be nice, since we didn't have Staiger for the last half of the season.
He actually wanted Kantrail to play for him at Utah State. He said many times that in his first year the gaurd play was so bad he wanted to lift the redshirt of Kantrail. As far as the late signing period. It's nice if you can get good pickup every once in a while. It is bad when your going to build a whole team outta them.
JT signed in the Spring.
Like Horton and JT, Nurse was a JuCo.
Horton redshirted- wow, a 23rd hour JuCo probably cannot surpass that. Maybe we will have to settle for another Mike Taylor.

That just is if you think that entire starting is all legit Big 12 starters. I think the point were making was .....most people were hoping to over recruit them. I guess I would compare that starting 5 individually to the other teams around the Big 12 from this year.
Okay...I hardly ever watch these things (I have my reasons), but I decided to take a look at this one because Andre Clark is one we are recruiting who I am REALLY interested in (gotta love the size/length).

I just want to say (sad I feel like I have to caveat) this post has nothing to do with Andre Clark. I am still very intrigued by this kid, and what he could mean, immediately, for our team. This ******* video is funny to the point of embarrassing, though.
What is the status on Barnes, I live in NC and Fayetteville Observer says he's signed with UNC and from the article it appeared to be no doubt he's a TarHeel. Or is this just a pro UNC slant from a pro UNC newspaper? Can someone enlighten me?
i would be ok with that roster, that's if McD can get those 4 to commit. IF they can play as a team (e.g. 2010 UNI team) with 5-7 players averaging 8-12 points, that would be a team I could get excited for.

You see, the guy interviewing Andre in this youtube clip? When I say he isn't the brightest bulb on the (Christmas) tree, I am questioning his intelligence in relation to others.
Read it slow, now. I don't want you to hurt yourself.
I hope like hell that isn't our starting lineup next year. Also, Barnes isn't JUCO. I'd feel A LOT better if we somehow nabbed both Wilkins and Clyburn. But we still need guards, IMO. Go out and find a couple more juco guards...Philips might be a stud but we need more help. Watching the NCAA tourney shows me we are far, far, far away from having the backcourt we'll need to be successful.
PS. You get offended really easily.
I agree, there would be a lot more hope for next year if we get both wilkins and clyburn plus another guard, or if Colvin can really develop and fulfill his potential. And you are right Phillips needs to come in and be a stud. Guard play has been our biggest weakness since McD got here and if we want to get to the tourney again we need good guards, unless they just want to keep expanding the damn thing....but i guess we would still probably have to finish above .500.
