Ames Lager

Thankfully I am heading that way this afternoon to pick up something else. Haven't been able to get Ames Lager on my side of town since my first six pack when it dropped. Hope to snag some more!
I know this is a very hot topic and way over anyone's head on this board - but what's stopping the AD from selling Ames Lager at JTS? I know from West O's side i'm sure they couldn't keep up with that demand but if they have some time hopefully they could build it up.
That just seems like such a no-brainer. The number of schools that sell beer in the general stadium (not just donor areas) is growing by the day it seems like. What a great recruiting pitch it would be for kids to be earning money off the 60k people drinking beer in the stands during their games
Checked 3 different places in Ames today, no luck. Cyclone Liquors said it's possible they could get a late delivery this afternoon, but more likely to be early next week.
One other location hadn't even heard of it yet, so I got them turned onto it with their distributor.
It would be cool if some restaurants could get it on tap. Hopefully that is in the works.
Finally found some at Fareway on Mills Civic in WDM. On an endcap kinda near the checkout lines, nowhere near the rest of the alcohol.
I was able to pick up a couple of six packs finally at the West Ames Hy Vee gas station this morning. Don't know how much they have total but that's probably not a place most people would look.
I was shocked to find a stack of Ames Lager at a Kum & Go in the Jordan Creek area last weekend. Good thing as I was running out.
Would love for you to be able to get some there, but I think it needs to be consistently available in the Des Moines area first. I haven’t been able to find anything on the east side (ie PHill or Altoona HyVees) since the first week or two after it came out, and I check it out about once a week. And yes…I have talked to the people in Wine and Spirits about it.
On a side note…I did see quite a bit of Swarm marked down at the PHill Hy-Vee yesterday. While I was unhappy to walk out of there with my thumb in my ass…again…seeing the “price decline” sticker on Swarm made me chuckle a bit.
If they are ever able to expand out of state, KC and Milwaukee should be a top the list.
Fortunately for me, living in Ames makes it much easier to acquire.

I’m told Cyclones Hazy is available at the backpocket taproom now. Stores should be receiving it starting Monday (don’t know the time it takes the stores to go from on dock to shelf)
