I'll take the accolades, and even give IC its props as long as its below Ames... but Boulder as #1. They obviously didn't factor hippies into the equation. (looking for the appropriate Cartman video clip, but I can't find one)
I'm not here to defend Boulder, just offer my observations... sure, there are of course hippies in boulder, just like many other college towns, but the town has changed a lot in the last 25 yrs...
Then I'd say you haven't met enough PhDs or enough Hawkeye fans. I'm not going to say that PhDs are smarter than anyone else just by having a PhD, but it certainly is tougher intellectually to get a PhD than it is to get a Bachelors (as it is tougher to get a Bachelors than a High School Diploma). And if you had read the article, you would see that "having PhDs" wasn't included in the ranking. Only % having Bachelors.Of course, you realize they are equating "having PhDs" with "being smart".
Frankly, I've met more drooling idiots who hold PhDs than any other single class of people, to include Iowa Hawkeye Fans.
Did you get that from Cartman during the introductions of a certain Thanksgiving day football game?
to quote the famous shirt (which i own) "the only sign of intelligent in life in Iowa City, is AMES 136 MILES."
I grew up in Ames, I lived in Iowa City for 10 years, and now I live in Cambridge, MA. Is it a coincidence that all three of these cities are on the list? I think not . . . I just bring up the level of smartness whereever I go
