(Almost) Perfect Record Albums...

I think some of you are not answering what the original post was asking and were just naming your favorite album

I had like six "perfect" albums listed, then I wrote Pet Sounds except for Pet Sounds and realized that's actually what we were talking about.

Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick [Few ups and downs when it's all the same song.]
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here [I always preferred it over Moon, and Moon is just iconic.]

It's no slouch, but how can you say it's your favorite when Master of Reality is sitting right there...
I love it. I LOVE MoR...but on balance I just don't get as much out of tunes like Lord of this World and After Forever as everything on Vol 4. Different strokes... MoR is an absolutely complete album though. If they filled that minute and a half that FX takes up on Vol 4 with Orchid it would be a perfect album.

Band: KISS
Album: Destroyer
Song: "Great Expectations"

Just a song I never connected with on an otherwise absolute rocker of an album from my youth.

Doors - The Doors
Beatles - Revolver & Abbey Toad
Joni Mitchell-Court and Spark & Blue
Mason Profitt - Wanted & Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream
Miles Davis - King of Blue
Carole King - Tapestry
Queen - Nigh At the Opera

Alice in Chains/Jar of Flies/Swing on This - just a stupid song to close out a damn near perfect album
Megadeth/Rust in Peace/Poison was the Cure - not a completely horrible song, just a super forgettable song
Don't Follow is such a perfect closer and it's an EP so it's not like it needs to be longer.

This is another big one for me. IMO LA Woman is perfect except for Jim Morrison's ridiculous harmonica imitation on Cars Hiss By My Window. Remove those seconds from the record and it's absolutely flawless.

Hyacinth House is one I always enjoy. I don't seek it out, but it seems so....Morrison... at that moment in time.

"Why did you throw the jack of hearts away?
It was the only card in the deck that I had left to play

And I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend
And I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend
And I'll say it again, I need a brand new friend, the end."

It’s my favorite song on the record followed closely by L’America.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Michael Jackson and the Thriller album.

It's the "one bad song" but otherwise perfect.

"The Lady in My Life" is pretty obviously the weak song on Thriller...not horrible but not on the level of the rest and doesn't fit great.

On Purple Rain I really think every single track is great and fits.

More recent, but Dropout Boogie was perfect except for Your Team is Looking Good. Just kinda off compared to the rest of the album.

Otherwise, Dark Side of the Moon minus Money. The song is fine but it just didn’t in the tone of the album to me.

Listening to DSOM synced to Oz was entertaining

Mellon collie and the infinite sadness, (my favorite album) ok computer, Sigur Ros, the soft bulletin and many others from all generations of music.
