Original comment was that Notre Dame gave him ultimatum needed to win a natty in next 3 years or was getting let go.
He isn't getting more than 3 at LSU at that price.

Still reset contract wise though.
Say he’s fired either way after 3, he gets to now collect on 7 years at more per year.

Plus, he’s likely thinking if Ed O and Les can win NCs at LSU, so can I

ND has the #4 recruiting class this year and #2 for 2023 so far. Any hire but Freeman means starting over on both of those. I think that will be a huge bonus in the Freeman column when ND sits down to think about going with him vs. interviewing Fickell or Campbell.

Fickell seems like a standup guy but if BK would leave a potential playoff team I don't see why Fickell wouldn't.
