My goodness people were going on and on and on about him...and I will admit the kid passed the eye test without pads on. Looks like he has hit the weights hard. CPR said he thinks he can be a special player, and OC Herman echoed that.
I like CPR,good down to earth guy. One word kept going through my head when he was talking, and that word was 'teacher'. You can tell he is good at that, and loves it. I was impressed by Herman, too. I am looking forward to seeing this offense. I asked him if we were for sure going to see the spread from game one, because many felt two years ago ISU was headed for that only to not believe what we saw against Kent State, and he smiled and said absolutely.
OL is huge...will have wider splits this year. WR's looked like a herd of gazelles..impressive.
Still the question remains; can your front seven make exponential improvement from being borderline atrocious to just being slightly below average. That would be a huge jump...because if they can, and if the offense does not have injuries, this team can win six games this year, IMO.
But the lack of depth on offense was a common refrain I heard today.
