UCF: Iowa State tight ends coach/recruiting coordinator Alex Golesh is expected to become the next offensive coordinator at UCF, according to the Des Moines Register. Update> Sources tell FootballScoop Golesh is expected to join the staff with the title of co-offensive coordinator.
Reminds me of the Office. "Assistant to the Regional manager"UCF seems to like to give out impressive titles. They have an Assistant Head Coach for Offense/Offensive Line, Co-Offensive Coordinator/Running Backs, and Co-Offensive Coordinator/Tight Ends. Bottom line, according to this site, Golesh is not "the OC."

So what happened to the UCF OC?
I was on the field when Atif climbed the goalpost. Don't remember the game, but it had to have been in 2003, give or take a year.
Not sure how that's related, but always what I think of when I hear his name
I think Heupel actually calls the plays, but still a great move and step up for coach Golesh
I asked a friend in Orlando who is a big UCF fan about this. Here is what she said:
"Heupel likes to keep active with the offense. His background is offense and he was a QB at Oklahoma, so he just has offense in his blood. He knows he can't be an effective head coach and have total responsibility for offense. So, he delegates parts of OC. Plus, I think it is a covert succession planning tactic - spread the knowledge so if one person leaves, there's not a knowledge gap among whoever is left."
