ALAMO BOWL!!!!

I guess I'm a little clueless as to when Busch Light became a thing. Why are we taking so much pride in drinking ****** beer?

Is this a quicker route than just staying on 35 through Austin?
Honestly, not really, unless it is rush hour. There is a sign going south bound on I-35 just before hitting 45 that gives you times. Often that shows staying on I-35 is the faster route. (source, I live just a few minutes from 45).

I also took 130 on a camping trip to Palmetto State Park back in October during a Friday late afternoon. I did hit some spots that were a 20 mph crawl. Probably the loudest highway I've been on. My vehicle did not care for it. There is also construction along it but work might be done at different times of the day for different stretches.

Just my two cents. I hate toll roads.

So you like that we have a month to prepare for Washington St, but Leach and his staff won't have time to watch extensive video of Iowa State?

Oh I thought you read my post before giving a snarky comment. I said it usually bodes better for us. Bode means to forecast, if you were unaware. Basically I’m saying give Campbell and co. and Leach and Co. a month to watch tape and design a game plan. I’ll take Campbell and co., especially when we’ve seen offense very similar for the majority of the year. But I’m also just trying to have fun conversation on a fan site. Maybe give it a try sometime. This site has gotten really know-it-all recently and quick to correct/bash. Sorry for being excited, I’ll try to take it down a notch to appease you.

In the last two years the high flying WSU offense has been pretty much handled by Big 10 teams in bowl games. Not any real huge surprise as, when given this much time to prepare, teams have generally found ways to stop air raid offenses in bowl games. No guarantee ISU can stop WSU, as every team is different, with different players, etc, but the Clones have a better than punchers chance of winning this game. Especially if they can get the defense back to full speed.

Most people aren’t awesome enough to pound IPA’s for an 8 hour tailgate. So for an 8-10 hour beer drinking marathon most of us pick a domestic light and Busch Light is the crowd favorite. That doesn’t mean we don’t all enjoy a few micro’s at a shorter time frame.

That's fair.

What things are people looking at to do in San Antonio beyond the bowl game and Busch light drinking? We were going to walk to the Alamo, but hadn't thought about much else. Is it possible that some of the outlying attractions, like Sea World and the haunted house, will have shuttle buses from the river walk? I realize there is not going to be a ton of time to do other things in a 3 day trip, but want to do whatever other stuff I can force into the trip.

It just seems contradictory to say Campbell and company will have time to prepare and Washington State won't be able to watch extensive film on Iowa State.

I've heard from some friends that they are doing Six Flags.

Alamo, golfing, eating at recommended local establishments, walking around the riverwalk area.

You just had to go and confuse me even more. After someone earlier posted how great the 130 bypass around Austin was I was all set to go that way for sure. But now you say it isn't that great.

You say there is a sign going south before you hit 45, but I would probably get on 130 back before Georgetown, so is there a sign before getting off on 130 straight from I-35?

I'd probably just use whatever navigation you prefer, be that Waze, Apple Maps, etc and just leave the 'avoid tolls' box unchecked. I suppose Round Rock can get busy on I-35 depending on the time of day which might be worth avoiding. Other's mileage may have varied, I just know my experience hasn't been great. Still waiting on a bill from TxTags for a trip back in October.

Good point. I still wouldn't choose Busch Lite though.

I'd say PBR is still a good day drinking beer that doesn't give me shivers after a sip.

Ticket report from Tuesday night, SIAP.

According to this, ISU is selling tickets at almost a 3:1 clip over the Cougs.

And what is the status of Washington State fans buying tickets elsewhere? Are they buying less elsewhere because they can still get such "good seats" through the Washington State section? I would buy through Iowa State if I was in the first few thousand to get seats. We have tons of fans that are not buying through the ticket office because they want to make sure to get good seats.

I considered seeing if I could get tickets when WSU turned some in. Then decided it too much of a gamble and bought through vivid or ticketmaster.
