I'll be taking it next semester. From what my friends have said, I won't necessarily enjoy it a whole lot.

Do they still have students fill in the maps with colored pencils for different soil types? I think I did more coloring in that class than my kindergarten year. Really liked the class though.

Doesn't matter. Lab will have different TA's but they don't really affect the class that much. Most all the class is on your own. Budget 3x the amount study time you would with a normal class and expect to be in Agronomy Hall

It's just 1 big lecture with a bunch of smaller sections for site lab. I don't want to scare you too much with this class. It wasn't the worst thing in the world and I have taken far worse classes in my time at Iowa State. I did like all of the teachers with that class. You should do fine if you just put in a little extra effort.

This is what most people have a problem with in the class. They don't catch on quick enough that they need to spend more time on the class or just don't have the dicipline to do so.

Yeah the videos are awful in that class. I can't even watch them without wanting to slam my computer against the wall. Just a bad class for your last semester in college.

I'm hoping they don't use the same videos that they used ten years ago, but have a feeling that they might. A dude sitting on a tree?

The class was rough, but still valuable. After more education though, I think there may be better ways to teach it.

Funny story about that class, I was a Nebraska farm kid in my first year of college, and everyone was talking about tiling. Running on irrigated land my whole life, I raised my hand and asked "what is this tile thing that everyone is talking about?"

*crickets chirping*

Agriculture is certainly different in different places.
