Sorry...I should have stated story on Rag or Chris Williams. You're right...Mac can't talk about him.
Don't expect to hear it from the Sioux City Urinal (unless he verbals to Iowa, or verbals to play football at Nebraska).
As of right now he's still officially committed. But with any commit that took place so early it is a soft verbal.

Choosing a school is a big decision. Even bigger if you are an athlete that will pour time in to both your studies and your athletics. No one can expect a 15 year old to make a committment and stick hard and fast to it.

True that. Recruiting is such a yo-yo. I'd never want to be part of it from the coach's side, because you really have no control and things can change without notice.
For me, I don't really follow a kid much at all until they're signed and on campus. Prior to that, they could wear cardinal/gold skivvies and I still wouldn't bank on them coming here. And that's not because we are ISU, this happens everywhere.

What does it hurt anyone to commit early? The player is still going to evaluate whether its the right place for him. The coach is still going to evaluate if he develops enough. The coach is still going to keep other recruiting options open just in case.
This. If I ended up doing what I was 100% positive I was going to do back when I was in the 10th grade, I would have ended up going to the U of Iowa... :wacko:
No different than every other recruit in the history of basketball? Do you really think that there has ever been a recruit who verbally committed and was then cut off from contact until the LOI was signed?
And we'll soon find out if it was a good decision or not. I'm guessing more guys are going to look at Sam Bradford and to an extend Tebow - and think twice (rightfully so) about staying in school.
