NOT FARLEY! I DO NOT WANT TO BE UNI SOUTH...

They will never go with Farley. For one, you cannot raid another school like that, and 2, we have not had much luck with UNI coaches yet, so I am not sure the support from fans will be there.

Other threads have indicated that Graham's treatment of Rice was no better than Chiz's treatment of ISU. Not sure this is the route we want to go again.

Definitely not. When the Rice Band calls you a ********* and names a halftime show about you going to hell? He is not our guy.

I think it's called "First Take" now. Have not watched it since I started my career 4.5 years ago (and Thea Andrews got dropped from the show)...

What? You didn't like Dan Jacobson? (no I didn't forget the 'a' on the end). Go Valley!

Support? If Iowa State hires Mark Farley I will officially turn in my resignation as an Iowa State fan. To take it a step further I would consider converting to the darkside just out of spite.

For those of you that have seen my posts on here about the Chokeyes you understand just how much I hate EIU. That is how strongly I feel against hiring Farley. I would rather see us hire an unproven high school coach over Farley.

Tell that to Michigan......

I did a Wikipedia search on Graham as I know little about him and at the very bottom of the page it states, "Currently Todd is in talks with Jamie Pollard, the AD from Iowa State University, about becoming their next head coach. While nothing is official, things are said to be progressing with a decision coming within the next couple of days."

Yes, I know it's WP and anyone can write something...

Todd Graham - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
reading in there it says their WR coach is Bill Blankeship... any relation to Beau Blankenship out RB commit?

Yeah, according to the Wiki article if he were to take the ISU job that would be his 3rd head coaching position in 3 years.

If he is coming he better be bringing his coordinators with him. They are both well respected. With the O-coordinator known for the "wildcat" offense. That would be fun to watch.

If he does get the job Gus Malzahn (the OC) wont come with him. Chances are he’ll be Tulsa’s HC. That doesnt mean they still wont run the wide-open offense.

I would be more than OK with Graham. I watched Tulsa play a couple of times this year and I thought it was a solid football team.

Graham would be great, but his exit from Rice has me skeptical... it was pretty nasty like GC's departure from here

Yeah, not sure I like the sounds of this:

Graham was hired as the head coach at Rice on January 1, 2006, following the resignation of long-time coach Ken Hatfield after the Owls had finished 1-11 in 2005. At Rice, athletic director Chris Del Conte helped Graham raised $5.5 million for renovating Rice Stadium and replacing the dated AstroTurf with FieldTurf. He hired former University of Texas quarterback Major Applewhite as his offensive coordinator,[2] replacing the triple option offense Hatfield had been running with a more balanced attack. Behind quarterback Chase Clement and All-American receiver Jarett Dillard, Rice pulled off the biggest turnaround of the 2006 season, finishing 7-5 and earning an invitation to the New Orleans Bowl, the school's first bowl game since 1960. Graham was named Conference USA Coach of the Year, and was rewarded by the Rice administration with the offer of a significant pay raise and contract extension.[3] After signing the extension with Rice, Graham accepted the head coaching position at the University of Tulsa. It was later revealed that none of his negotiations with Rice were in earnest, as he was negotiating his contract with Tulsa during the breaks in the Rice contract negotiations. This controverisal move did not sit well with many in the Rice community. On November 24, 2007, when Tulsa played Rice at Rice Stadium, the Rice University Marching Owl Band presented a halftime show named "Todd Graham's Inferno"[4] (based on Dante's "The Divine Comedy") which implied that Graham had entered a special circle of Hell when he abandoned Rice for Tulsa. The use of the word "*********" in reference to Graham resulted in a formal protest to Conference USA by Tulsa's athletic department. Chuck Throckmorton, the marching band's director, later apologized for offending anyone, but not for the show.[5][6]

His QB was #5 I think in overall passing yards this past year...that same QB was #2 in passer rating this past year behind Bradford.

His offense was #2 this year in total points per game behind OU and I think they avg. 47 points a game or something.

I think when these players that are waiting on a new coach see the #s his offense puts up only will entice them to stay knowing that they are going to get the ball thrown to them.

I don't know what players he has put into the NFL but that could also be a selling point if he has a good # of them

When he arrived at Tulsa he had the talent there already, and look what he did with it. He has talent here (thanks chizdick) and hopefully he can put this team into big #s.

NOT FARLEY! I DO NOT WANT TO BE UNI SOUTH...

From a map it looks more like we'd be UNI West. And Pollard has already laid the groundwork -- have you seen some of the new purple uniforms and warmups he has us sporting these days?
