Above Ground Pools

Draining the mofo for the winter. I can say that although a sh*t ton of work on the front end, my two kids were in it nearly every day. Worth it.

Just get a galvanized cattle tank. You can also go tanking with it. That is actually pretty fun. Put in a small picnic table and tank down the river.

In my younger years, I’m legitimately surprised I never tried something like this.

The Yellowstone series will forever change my thoughts on cattle tanks. Can't unsee that.

my first summer with a 18 x 32 ft in ground pool. up to $500 for chemical and opening it fees so far. water is 60F and im too cheap to turn on the heater.
Nice. But then you don’t get the pleasure and fun of taking one down and putting it up every year.

Posted in this thread back in 2020, the pool is now 10 years old. Still going strong on first liner. Had to replace 1 heater and 1 pump, and several deckboards are being replaced as needed. Probably have a few years left, but got our moneys worth.

This is legit impressive.

Do you have an above ground? And build a deck around it?

Yes, put a in a 16x32 oval, dug it 2 feet in ground, then a 7ft deep end, with a full deck. For the deck, 4 ft and overall 30x40 with a bump out section. The pool is plumbed like and inground and I use both a sand and cartridge filter, that I can double filter or switch to one to finish out the season. Heated with a bypass option to save running water through the heater if not using.
