A Must Read

Yeah, because responding to whether he actually wrote an email to a fan that was posted on a radio station Web site should be at the very top of his list as opposed to budget concerns, negotiating contracts, the decision to keep McDermott a year, etc., ...you know, piddly stuff.

Well he apparantly had time to read the email and then respond to it:wink:

Like I said, it would take him less than 10 minutes to make a call/send an email to Chris and clear this mess up if he didn't in fact say these things.

Not trying to sound like I know it all, but having almost 10 years of professional experience in PR, if Pollard did NOT write the email, he should make a statement saying so, and also say something along the lines of 'we're investigating this matter and want to assure Cyclone Nation that whether you donate your hard earned money or not, we value you as a fan blah blah blah.'

I'm sure if it wasn't, Pollard would have said something by now. I get that he was probably in Kansas City last night, but I would imagine that he has a Blackberry and can get to his email.

A couple of last points from me about this.

Why should Pollard respond? The burden of proof is KXNO's to prove that this is a legit email they haven't proven it, and there have been several posters on here who give pretty good reasons why it isn't a Pollard email.

Innocent until proven guilty probably doesn't apply here, but it seems like it should.

By the way, only 96 more posts to go!

edit: Way to go Cyrocks you messed up my count

Make that 95 to go.

I believe Ken Miller has tried to email Mr. Pollard but that didn't illicit a response. I think those who are denying that our AD did send it, are choosing to deny the existence of a thin-skinned AD.

I don't think KXNO would have gone on the record with this if they didn't think it was legit, and Pollard doesn't really seem like the kind of person who wouldn't respond to something like this.

Mess, what mess? And if the email was sent in the first place, how could Pollard have read the email?

I'm saying this guy made up Pollard's response email and dupped KXNO, Miller, Miller, Deace and Matt into putting it on KXNO Web site.

I say KXNO, Matt, Miller, Miller and Deace perpertated a fraud in order to drive up listenership and punk Pollard at the same time knowing Pollard wouldn't say anything.

And all it would take to prove me wrong is to have those guys either post their evidence that it is indeed a real email from Pollard, to call/send me a personal message in order to prove that they thoroughly investigated this and show me the proof.

I wouldn't mind seeing that proof myself.

:biglaugh: Yeah because ANYTHING posted on a Web site blog HAS to be true, right?

You don't think that if it was a fake that something wouldn't have been said by this point? If it's a fake, Pollard and/or the ISU athletic department could sue KXNO for defamation, libel, or slander couldn't they?

I see. I understand your point about innocent until proven guilty but if players aren't allowed to be why should the people that actually get paid be allowed to be? Like it or not when you sign up for a job like that, innocent until proven guilty doesn't apply (in terms of consequences, not in terms of legality)

You think KXNO would just go on the air with something like that without checking first? Never mind that they posted it - they had to get it, talk about it, and probably get station management involved in the discussion before they decided to go on the air with it.

Yes, they are in the market to get listeners not to be correct. Didn't is say some where that Miller wasn't comfortable putting it up?

And he ran with it.

Of course he did - the point is that the cat was all ready out of the bag by then. If this had first been "reported" on Perraults show, and it was on his website, I'd be a little more skeptical. I'm willing to give guys like Jon and Steve a little more rope, because they seem like the type would do their due diligence before going on the record.
