OP, I can think of some Cyclone fans that are no longer with us, like my mom, that would have loved to have seen a season like this. Be thankful that you’ve got to witness this in your own life, and don’t worry if the younger generation has not paid their dues.
Like many long-time Cyclone fans, I’ve sat through literally hundreds of Cyclone games over the last 40 years (many of those years rough). Watching my 10 year-old son singing Sweet Caroline Saturday while we wrapped up a regular season title...made me a little jealous that he didn’t have to suffer a little more like all of us old fans have.
It was a surreal moment walking out of the Jack Saturday- ready for more next week in Dallas!
You saying there are going to be some folks who the last conference championship by us walking around down there?Reminds me of walking around the "headquarters" hotel of the Alumni Association in Phoenix in 2000 at the Insight Bowl. We hadn't been to a bowl game in 22 years. Looked around at all of the 70-somethings in attendance and thought some of the them probably thought they would never live to see another bowl. This championship game is like that 2000 bowl for a lot of people.
I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities if he is a multi-sport Cyclone fan.OP- you should feel sorry for your son. He will never be able to fully appreciate the mountain top, without having lived in the valley of despair.
