A Departure from Cyclone Nice

If you were deluded into thinking that there aren't some truly terrible people even in the Cyclone fanbase it is about time you learned the truth. I like Cyclone fans but just like in every group of people there are going to be some bad apples.

When I worked at Hilton years ago there was a guy on the crew who I really liked and respected. Then one day he was bragging about how he had found a wallet at the sweep the night before. He pocketed all of the money out of the wallet and threw it in the creek on his way home that night. I lost a lot of respect for him right there.

This is what's wrong with today's all or nothing thinking. It's totally cartoonish cave-man thinking. Cyclones Fans Good. Other People (like Iowa fans) Bad. Of course people can be fans of the same team as you but don't display the same morals. The fact that you need to defend a fan base against bad apples is the problem, as every fan base has bad apples. It's not mutually inclusive.

"I lost my cell phone at a women's basketball game between Iowa State and West Virginia."

"Might have been an Iowa fan."

I mean, what? What a bizarre first reaction to have.

I live about 10ish miles from Melbourne. If you send the coordinates I could go out and take a look for it sometime, although it's probably buried in the snow if it's there. Let me know the model. If it's an 11/12/13 I'll look harder than I would for a 4/5/6/7/8 SE.
I live close to that area DM me the where abouts and I'll go try to find it.

Like if you can send me the google map photo I can probably look for it.

My 9 year old son randomly found an iphone in the park. He was going to keep up but I told him to call the owners friend. So he did and was awarded $100. A good lesson for a young lad to do the right thing.

Morality only exists because we say so. If there were no consequences (other people to consider) there is no morality. Nature kills without conscience. We just like to believe we're better than that.

Having said that it sucks when people can't see themselves in other people's misfortunes.
We are a social species that needs each other to live and thrive. Our morality is derived from our need to live together in a society. As Costanza put it:

I do appreciate the offers, but NEGATIVE - It's a two-year old I-Phone 8+ and the replacement should arrive today - I didn't go back and moved on quickly. If for some reason somebody wants to go on an adventure to find a needle in a haystack, the address given by the tracking software was:

1698 Co Hwy E67
Melbourne, Iowa

As noted previously, the future son-in-law indicated it could be anywhere within a half-mile of this address, or as somebody else noted, it might be where the phone was powered down (meaning it's no longer there).

Some of you people are way too serious! I was irritated somebody walked out of Hilton with my cell phone, mostly with myself for not being careful - I was venting. Of course there are people who don't do the right thing everywhere - I see it every day at work! I intended the part about not losing faith in humanity to be obvious hyperbole (not broken, just bent, I can learn to love again). Jeez...

Have a great day and "let's be careful out there" (with your cell phones)!

Friendly reminder to report your lost SIM card. There's a lot of personal and financial information that can be pulled from that depending on the tech capacity of the thief and how much you used your phone for financial transactions.
