I saw an article about this from the Guardian. Apparently he went to an online charter school, which generally have bad reputations. Clearly he is intelligent but going down this path will lead to poor social development.

Idk… this kids gonna do **** all out of order. It’s supposed to go fractions, rock and roll, chemistry, sex, calculus, drugs. Kid is gonna end up weird AF.

On the other hand sometimes kids can find the most joy out of doing kids things.

It sounds like based on this post he's well-adjusted socially, so good for them. Because everyone clearly jumped on the "what about his social development?" aspect of the argument without once thinking for a second if forcing him to be in a class that he would get absolutely nothing out of academically all for "social development purposes" would have been good for him, either. Because as someone who wasn't challenged enough in grade school, I can tell you that's not good for kids, either.

As someone else who wasn’t challenged in school I would have been better off with a more traditional path. In fact in high school I skipped taking a science class to be in a class with people my age instead of the people ahead.
