9 seconds left in regulation

How many game winning 3's does Monte have? 0

How many game winning shots inside 15' does Monte have? 2 or 3... more if you count his shots that gave us the lead with under 30 seconds.

I just don't understand the mind set with taking a contested 3.

Not calling a timeout there was absolutely the right call. You don't let Baylor set up their defense. The problem was Monte and his walking the ball up the court. He should of went straight to the rack and made a layup or gotten fouled.

He doesn't have the drive though. We either want to get it to Niang with enough time for him to do something or see Monte drive. There wasn't time really to get it to Niang and they defended the drive well. I'd like something else, but teams have been defending really well on those.

If we call timeout, Scott Drew (yes, Scott ******* Drew) will just out-coach us again.

So, I have no problem with not calling a timeout, but then we get the stutter dribble contested way off three point attempt followed by a prayer 12 footer than goes in after time expires - yet we settle for the long three ball when there is actually time left on the clock. Meanwhile, Niang is hiding off in the corner.

Then, there is McKay laughing about his 0 point, 5 foul effort.

Re: Last shot to win... DRIVE TO THE HOLE!!!

Or take a time out and draw something up. Either would be fine.

identical to the Tech game. Georges needs the ball in that situation.

Re: Last shot to win... DRIVE TO THE HOLE!!!

I don't have a problem with playing on. Calling a timeout gives the other team time too. We just need something better than dribbling down and taking a 3. I would save the criticism if this was the only game we ended like that.

Well Cyclone 1985, I suspect that we will "learn" when 1) you become head coach and apply your brilliance against the likes of Shaka Smart or Bill Self, or 2) you enroll in community college, get your grades up so you are academically eligible and you take over the PG position. But I'm not holding my breath.....:SLEEP:In order to show how much better, more skilled and smarter you are than Monte, you will have to average more than 15 points, shoot over 51%, have an assist:turnover ratio of 5.0 and get 2 steals or better. You up for that? Talk's cheap, ain't it.

You know. I've been hesitant at times to place even a little blame on Coach Prohm over tough losses. But tonight most definitely wasn't one of the better games he has coached. A multitude of coaching blunders...

It is difficult to judge Prohm from a defensive standpoint until next year. However, I have not been impressed at all by his defensive schemes or adjustments. Furthermore, we don't see very many easy "quick hitters" in the last couple minutes like we used to under Fred. Time will tell but I get a little tired of the same song different verse post-game press conference.

Should have called a timeout. Shocking one wasn't called

There just isn't plan, Prohm is frozen over there. Morris was looking at him and Steve just stood there. No plan out of timeouts, no late game plan. No pressure on officials, just an empty suit that doesn't know what to do.

Man even my wife was saying I cant believe they keep doing the same thing over and over at the end of games with the same losing result..
Wish Monte would learn and quit trying to play hero from the outside and go for a better shot.
He is as unclutch at the end of games this year as you can get. Borderline costing ISU games with bad decisions.

I wouldn't say he isn't clutch his shot selection is just plain awful.
