7 seed in KC here we come...

Oh I don’t know….maybe the amount of wins that accrued during the season that some would see as unfathomable and then adjust expectations accordingly as possibility increases as to what one can attain at the current trajectory. But I guess the true fans that pay attention were expecting a dead last finish despite as opposed to what could still be out there for the taking.

What is still out there for the taking for this team?

We are one of those nearly impossible teams to predict in the tournament. We can beat pretty much anybody if we hit our shots and force turnovers, but we can score in the 30's and lose to anybody. Which team will show up in the dance? Who knows, but we could be one-and-done or beat a top 3 seed or two. While I prefer the latter, I'm just glad we are having this discussion.

Yep!

Will we score 30, will we score 90?
Will we frustrate the other team and turn them over or will we let them do whatever they want?

Nothing surprises me with this team. I really like these guys. But if we get blown out in the round of 64 I won't be surprised. If they somehow pull off a sweet 16 run, I wouldn't be shocked either.

No idea what is around the blind corner of the roller coaster of a season this has been.

My first thought waking up this morning:
"How in the **** did that team I watched last night win 20 games?"
So, which should I be? :
1. Pleased because they won 20?
2. Very impressed with what TJ and staff accomplished?
3. Lowering expectations for any postseason success?
4. All of the above?

Might play KU... which is going to suck trying to get tickets. ANY OTHER team will be better for ISU fans to grab seats.

We lost this.

We'll lose Saturday (big)

And if KSU beats OU at home (which they will) we are the 7 seed in KC.

We deserve any big drop in the seeds and metrics we get. This was disgustingly awful and embarrassing.

Gonna be 20-12 headed to the NCAAs. I kind of hope they drop us to a 10 but we for sure are gonna be a 9 seed. I'd bet on it. And I cannot imagine playing a 1 seed and what they'll do to us.
We hit our shots, they'll be in for a fight they aren't expecting...
If we don't, we'll be beaten...pretty simple.

Yes, but it takes beating Baylor and a bunch of help.
It would be We win. TCU would have to lose both their games. (KU and WV). And what else to move up to 5? With KSU and OU playing Saturday, the looser would be the 8 seed with only 6 wins and WV the 9th seed.

Am I getting all this correct?

Really?

Post season wins are still out there and a lot of fun. Being in the tournament is as fun as it gets. Win one and take our best shot at a top seed. Sounds like something for the taking. We aren't as bad as we were last night.

I was asking for those that seem to think that an undefeated non-conference meant that this ISU team was going to take the conference or something.

I can see them jumping on someone in the first round of the NCAA tourney and winning a game.

If we end up a 7 seed v. Baylor wouldn't that be the most vulnerable of the top 3?
I'm not so sure. They have alot to play for. They looked just fine without their big guy and Cryer when they beat Kansas. Right now I think they are on the 1-seed line, but a first game exit in KC along with KU winning the whole tournament could flip-flop them, or put Kentucky in their place, for an example.
