49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

So, Brock started 3-1/2 years at Iowa State. Sort of why it bugs me that tv announcers last fall spoke about Rocco beating Brock's freshman records. Love Rocco, great young man, but the comparison is not just, imho.

Brock played the majority of every conference game. Rocco also came into an offense wrecked by the gambling stuff.

Both freshman years were outstanding. Let’s not make it an either/or.

It’s inevitable but it Feels quite inappropriate to compare the two…

Brocks rushing stats at ISU.
Not as good as I suspected, tho he "occasionally" was sacked for some pretty hefty loses, many of which could be blamed on a "mediocre" oline.
19 rushing tds.
365 attempts.
1177 yards.
Point being, hope Kyle gives Brock a green light to run....when Brock senses the op.
I think we held him back from running to try to avoid injury

I have a question for the pre-Purdy 49ers fans.

First, I think Purdy is somewhere between Kaepernick / Garoppolo and Steve Young. He's had a GREAT season. A historic season (All-time single season passing leader). He has led the 49ers to a Super Bowl.

My question. If the 49ers lose, is he just another Kaepernick or Garoppolo? If the 49ers win, does he occupy Steve Young status? Just from a 49ers fan perspective. Is that fair, or is he still better than Colin and Jimmy in defeat and not as good as Steve Young in victory?

Just curious about your thoughts @ pre-Purdy 49ers fans.

Win or lose, for now, I'll still have him slotted in between Young and Jimmy G. It will take a few years of really good play to overtake Young for me. He definitely seems as though he's on his way, and I really hope he gets there!!!

Steve Young was really, really good for years. He would have had an even longer career if ******* Lawrence Phillips (yes, that same one) could have picked up a basic corner blitz from Aneas Williams.

When Steve Young retired he held the career passer rating record and it wasn't that close. He was as efficient a passer as I've ever seen and had an incredible scrambling ability. He was the definition of sneaky athletic and I'm pretty sure he ran one of the fastest 40 times in his draft class before signing with the USFL.

Ypu can't answer those questions based on one year.

No. LOL. :D

Brock_STAR is Brock_STAR win or lose. He's playing against Mahomes in the Super Bowl. So I wouldn't fault him no matter what happens. I've been watching the 49ers my entire life. They are my most favorite sports team. He is hands down the best QB in 20 - 25 years on this team. The processing, timing, anticipation, decision making, get the ball out quick, mechanics, accuracy, scrambling and creating off schedule is elite. You have to go back to Montana and Young to see something this good.

Jimmy G = garbage. Can't read the field, no accuracy, can't throw deep, no athleticism, can't create off schedule.

KRAP (sometimes called KAP) was a garbage player. 1 read and run. Once they figured out the read option he was useless. Couldn't read the field, no accuracy, nothing after the first read. Limited guy.

To answer your question he is equal to Steve Young IMO should he win. 1 Super Bowl win each. Should he lose he is 3rd behind 1) Montana, 2) Young, 3) Purdy, 4) Garcia. With more career to follow and perhaps more chances. He's just 24.

In my decades of watching football, I want this Purdy Niner win, more than any game I've EVER watched, no matter the sport.
The benefits to ISU recruiting, etc, etc.... beyond football, are Beyond Enormous.
That aside...just wanna see the kid that gave us so much crazy ass joy (intermixed with, "Wtf was that, Purdy!"), win the biggest of the big.

This is funny. Chase has really invested in his production value and even got Baldinger on his "show". Problem is he doesn't let Baldinger talk. This looks like an audition tape for ESPN, and I actually think he's pretty good at it, but kinda dropped the ball with having a guy like Baldi on and not really letting him do much talking or analysis.
