49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

Not sure how much stock you can put in that. Kirk Cousins is similarly strong of faith and it has never stopped him from maximizing his pay. And there's absolutely zero wrong with that. If Brock decides he wants to be paid like a top 5 QB when he's up for his new deal, then by all means he should go for it. More power to him.
I never criticize a person for negotiating for whatever, even if it’s more than they are worth, as long as they aren’t blackmailing or doing very shady stuff. If you sit down and can hammer out a favorable deal for yourself, there is nothing wrong with that. The “Christian approach” is not taking less than you can deal for, it’s dealing in a fair way and manners.

Classy by Chiefs D.C.

I've seen multiple interviews where Spags has been complimentary of Brock and he says a lot of the same stuff. He was surprised by Brocks ability to run in the playoffs and had to prep for that. He knew going in that despite him being a young QB they probably couldn't get him rattled and off his game based on how he had performed already, and they had to get away from some of their zone looks and what they wanted to do early in the Super Bowl because Brock was identifying them and picking them apart.

Is that a Purdy body double? They didn’t trust him to actually drive the tractor? haha

Yeah what the heck is going on there? Did they pay the body double to pre-set everything and Brock show up for the scene? I have no idea how that stuffs work, but I'm pretty sure Brock can run JD equipment from previous videos.

Or, the 49ers said no, you can't drive it. Look at your contract?

LOL there are very few things safer than driving a modern style tractor. especially in a controlled setting for a commercial. I am looking forward to seeing the finished commercial however. My curiosity is peaked.

Guessing not too many tractor drivers among the 49ers brass. They see BFM (big --- machine) and say, whoa? Pure speculation on my part, I don't know anything.

Oh ok I actually thought that was in his contract. That it was a crazy thing to have in it. Motorcycles, skiing, parachuting, paragliding etc... I could see all those being banned.

Back in my youth when I was an avid eiu fan and fullbacks were an every day thing, the best I ever saw play was Tim Sullivan, a Kansan of all places.

Oregon State, in 1968 ranked no. 8 in the polls, flew into Iowa City with FB Bill "Earthquake" Enyart, all-American iirc. eiu won an upset, 21-20. Sullivan was a tough, powerful runner (Ed Podolak was the TB) and a crushing blocker. (edit: I meant to say Sullivan outplayed Enyart that day. helluva of performance.)

The following spring Sullivan was riding his motorcycle when a car objected to his route. Severe ankle injury. iirc, he came back after missing a year but clearly was not even close to being the same. Enyart went on to play for the Bills and the Raiders.

Top NFL QBs, I'll bet, like you say, the contract reins are tight.

Yeah, I got really spoiled. I figure with my health I’m not going to live a long life, so use some of the relationships I’ve built with ISU player over the past ~20 years and enjoy these things. My kids have absolutely no interest in sports so I’m asking Brock and others go out of their way to sign in front of Becket Reps so the items are holographicly tracked and valuable when I pass.
You can adopt me!;);)

reading comprehension...

Read the entire tweet...it's Colton McKivitz, OL for the 49ers. Looks like he played for WVU.

Huh I guessed Colton McKivitz was the dude with the beard. that you can see in the cab in the one picture. I'm standing by my thoughts when you watch the video of them looking at the video screen I'm guessing mcKivitz is the big dude tossing the fb and having his hair smoothed by the blonde gal.

Purdy reduced to farming the mean streets of SF in the offseason.

Hey Brock get the...
2023 Porsche 911 Turbo

Porsche 911 Turbo

... it's only $210K. Until you get your contract that JD 370 is way out of your range ($510K).

I believe this is correct. There is a body double for Purdy, McKivitz doesn't look anything like Brock.

And guys take heat from the players union and other guys if they start taking less than market value to help the team. Brady could do it, but not too many other guys could get away with the home town discount stuff.

There are a ton of down to earth good dudes playing in the NFL, and a lot of them say all the right things, and have nothing but good things said about them. And they pretty much all take as much as they can get.
