Will Brock or Burrow be the first to buck this trend?
And he was within an eyelash of itTurns out winning a championship is really freaking hard.
I want Purdy to win the Super Bowl with another team. He will never get the credit he deserves if he plays for the Niners. Some idiots are saying Purdy is playing in an all star team. If he wins, no credit. If he loses, he will be blamed for loss.
I would be ok with Brock going to the Vikings, but I just want Brock to get paid. Once he’s paid who cares what anyone says.I want Purdy to win the Super Bowl with another team. Well, it is a CycloneFanatic message board, not a ChiefsFanatic message board.I don't understand the thinking that you would root for a player over your favorite NFL team. Once they leave ISU they aren't playing for ISU anymore.
As I stated in my previous post, Purdy will do better in other teams. Purdy can win the Super Bowl with Cowboys.I would be ok with Brock going to the Vikings, but I just want Brock to get paid. Once he’s paid who cares what anyone says.
So what exactly has Patrick Mahomes done for Texas Tech football? Here's the difference: To me, a super bowl for a QB is something that creates a legacy that will last forever. It is incredibly important especially for QBs. Do I want ISU to win the B12 more than I wanted Purdy to win? Probably. But no one outside of us selfish ISU fans is going to remember that next year much less 10 years from now.
That said, I didn't say that rooting for Chiefs over Purdy was wrong, I just said that I don't understand it. But people are different and obviously, they love their pro teams way more than I do. I just don't get having that kind of connection to a pro team vs a school that they actually went to.
A lot of different reasons here. Player gets older, player gets injured, team is broken apart. All kinds of things happening. IMO Burrow and Purdy have a chance to be back. They are young and on good teams. Bengals were injured this year but good when healthy. Goff also has a chance. Past does not equal the future. In particular some of these very good young QB's on good teams have a chance to be back.
His best chance is right where he is. Further it's not a super team. There are holes on the offensive line and defensive secondary. Coaching is bad in the big games too with Shanahan. Not a perfect team like the fans think. He gets no credit when he wins and all the blame when he loses. Unfairly so.I want Purdy to win the Super Bowl with another team. So, does that mean we are doing away with the professional sports being talked about and only talking about ISU?Well, it is a CycloneFanatic message board, not a ChiefsFanatic message board.

Every team has holes, there are no super teams in the league, and the league is set up to make sure one never occurs. That is point of the salary cap, this is not like MLB that allows the Dodgers to have a roster pushing $400 million while a team like the A's have a $50 million dollar one.His best chance is right where he is. But we aren't giving up the best young QB we have had in 20+ years. Get used to him being on the 49ers. For next year a lot of the core group will be intact. But not all of it. After that it could break apart more in free agency. You have to keep drafting well. My bet is Brock will be a 49ers player for years to come and our starting QB. Cousins is rehabbing and the Vikings QB as some suggested. So no opening there.
Nope. However, it is still a CycloneFanatic Board with pro stuff, not a Chiefs Fanatic Board. People can talk about what they want. Does not matter to me. Just think it's funny with all of the Chiefs Fanatics on a Cyclone Fanatic Board not understanding why Cyclone Fanatics LOVE and root for Brock Purdy and talk about it on a Cyclone Fanatic Board. So, does that mean we are doing away with the professional sports being talked about and only talking about ISU?
Maybe we are both Chiefs and Cyclone fans, and like to see our pro team win, even if that means a player that went to ISU has to lose. You can like Purdy, root for him to do well, but still want to see your favorite team to win big games.Nope. However, it is still a CycloneFanatic Board with pro stuff, not a Chiefs Fanatic Board. Gross. That is one huge list of mediocrity minus Burrow.
Yes I agree next year is their best chance of the next few. Some restructuring was done so I don't think their cap is that bad. Not too many key guys up this year. A few will leave. But nothing catastrophic for 2024 season that could prevent us from being back. Brock could be back in there again. No guarantees. But other than this year it's the next best chance. I say next best because you always count the year you are in there as the best. You already made it. Next year there are injuries, free agent departures, cap, draft, ball bounces differently in a few games. You never know. The year you are in it is always a unique opportunity. Because you are there.Every team has holes, there are no super teams in the league, and the league is set up to make sure one never occurs. That is point of the salary cap, this is not like MLB that allows the Dodgers to have a roster pushing $400 million while a team like the A's have a $50 million dollar one.
The 49ers are in position for one more season to make a solid run for the super bowl, they are already over the cap, so they are going to have to start making decision on who to keep and who is going to walk, but the next year it gets worse as they are going to start to pay Purdy 25 to 40 million a year. That is when the crunch really will hit.
That's fine. I'm sure it's a great take on a Chiefs Fanatic Board. Not so much on a Cyclone Fanatic Board. That's all I'm saying.Maybe we are both Chiefs and Cyclone fans, and like to see our pro team win, even if that means a player that went to ISU has to lose. You can like Purdy, root for him to do well, but still want to see your favorite team to win big games.
You got an NFL forum and a Chiefs sub forum. So it probably is more appropriate in there. This is the Brock Purdy thread.Maybe we are both Chiefs and Cyclone fans, and like to see our pro team win, even if that means a player that went to ISU has to lose. You can like Purdy, root for him to do well, but still want to see your favorite team to win big games.
