Becht - Rivals 5 Star Challenge winner
Kohl - Under Armour All-American QB
The younger guys on this board have no idea the kind of QBs we had at the end of the Walden years and in the early McCarney years. The caliber of high school recruit that Campbell’s staff can go after now is on a whole other plane. I’m not knocking Marvin’s Miracle or Bob Utter or the other guys, but they were not in the same league as the guys above and I’m sure they would admit it.+1
this happens to excellent teams: a lot of competitions and at the end of the day, good players leave because there are better players.
I suddenly remember our situation with CMC when he was able to secure commitment from Re Al Mitchell and then of course, we got Brock Purdy. Speaking about Re-Al:

Re-al Mitchell is ‘fired up’ for homecoming, transfer to San Diego
Re-al Mitchell went from appearing on “QB1: Beyond the Lights” with Justin Fields to a winding journey through the collegiate ranks. But the experience he’s gained along the way, and his return to California, has made it all worth it.bvmsports.com

Recruiting the QB position has got to be so tough. You want quality depth, but you've already got Dekkers for the next few years, signs pointing towards Becht being good, etc. I imagine most QB rooms are a bit cluttered but it has to be a hard position to recruit with only one seeing the field at a time.
He doesn’t have better hairThe real question we must ask ourselves: Is he better than Steele Jantz?

I’m not going to count on Hunter being around more than a year, which would open it up for the younger QB’s a year from now.Recruiting the QB position has got to be so tough. Go full Jacob Park. That's a win in my book.He doesn’t have better hair
If Dekkers has a banner year, will NIL cause him to transfer?I’m not going to count on Hunter being around more than a year, which would open it up for the younger QB’s a year from now.
He’s got a ton of physical potential, he’s been in the system for two years (unlike Brock when he took over the starting role), and he’s going to have what may be the most talented receiving corps of the past forty years.
Much as when Breece and Jirehl committed while David Montgomery was still around, I’m pretty sure that young Mr Kohl is quite aware of the possibilities.
Nah. If Dekkers played that well, there would be a strong chance he’d declare. Dekkers would probably be gone after 2023 in that scenario. I doubt Kohl is demanding to be a day one starter. If Dekkers has a banner year, will NIL cause him to transfer?
Never know.If Dekkers has a banner year, will NIL cause him to transfer?
Never know.
But if he has a banner year, he would probably be a top 3/4 round player and there is probably better money there.

Yep, the 2022 season will be his junior year.Is he eligible to be drafted?
After this year, yes. He'll have been out of HS three years, even though the covid-year means he's still only gonna be a "RS-Freshman".Is he eligible to be drafted?
