Jake S, claims, Larry used to say its his job to keep the game close to the last 4 min, its the players job to win it.
I think around 7 minute mark is when Iowa St went on their run, including a couple DJ threes. Do they go on that run, to get back in the game, with some of the starters out? Tricky situation for Prohm.Completely agree with this with one caveat - and that is the coach needs to make sure his final 4 minute guys are fresh, but CSP rides the same 5 guys for about the last 10 minutes....needs to rest several of these guys with 7, 6, 5 minutes to go. Where was Tally? Where was Lewis? Nowhere to be seen for virtually the entire 2nd half. Many of the mistakes late were due to fatigue.

What really hurt Prohm and Iowa St, was the late under 4 timeout. If it happens just under 4 minutes, instead of Prohm being forced to call one with 2 something on the clock, then maybe the starters catch their breath, and are ready for the final four minutes. And Prohm still would have a timeout in his pocket.
Yes. Lard (who had 1 I believe) could have fouled Alphabet Soup. It would have been a bonus if they interpreted it as a shooting foul and sent him to the line.Agree.
I know it would have been unconventional but I was hoping we'd just foul KU to get a clock stopage for the under 4 timeout. We had a foul to give at that point.

Everyone and their mom knew Jackson was going to shoot that three that got blocked.. taking bad contested shots in in the flow of the game is one thing.. it was just a bad decision. I went to the game just hoping I didn’t have to walk out embarassed. It was a good one.

Gonna be a tough year to watch for the W's, but this team sure has alot more in the cupboard that I thought they would. I am not sure what Prohm has to do to keep them focused at the end of games, but it is maddening to watch them in the final few. Eventually they need to figure it out, or CSP needs to swap the lineup. Jackson does a great job at times, but he proves time and time again that he is not the end of game go to guy for us and disappears or just plan makes poor choices at EOG. Hope to see a W for one of these close ones soon.
I'll just leave this here for the dislikers and disagreers. From CW's column. Stats are a *****, aren't they?A spot up 3 in rhythm? Absolutely. I just hope he never dribbles the basketball again.

First no iso does not equal never dribble the ball again. Saying you want one of your guards on a division 1 team to never dribble the ball again is asinine. I think people were pretty generous to only dislike or disagree with you.I'll just leave this here for the dislikers and disagreers. From CW's column. Stats are a *****, aren't they?
3 – Iowa State’s absolutely worst offense is….
… Donovan Jackson playing the iso game.
Jackson, who has been fantastic in averaging 24.7 points per game in Iowa State’s last three contests, is 1-for-16 from the field this season when he is isolated on an opponent. Jackson’s numbers are so bad in this aspect of the game that he’s ranked in the bottom 2 percent of all college basketball players.

I'm pretty sure Huggins would be licking his chops if he found out that Prohm had asked Jackson to not dribble the ball again before they go to Morgantown.
So tell me...who do you think should be getting minutes instead of Jackson, if he sucks so badly?Jackson is averaging 0.9 assists per game (14 TOTAL in 499 minutes). That ties him with Brase and Young.
His A/TO ratio is a negative number.
He is a walking talking iso.
Great spot-up shooter. That's it.
He and Wiggi both had bad turnovers at the end. NWB is probably the best option to have the ball and find either of those guys open for a shot or take it himself.Only if somebody kicks out to him. Scares me with the ball in his hands (if he's not shooting).
