Just want to compliment this site along with these two guys for their last podcast. Thanks for bringing some sanity to the recent basketball team struggles.

Too many people have a quick trigger on teams and coaches and instantly go into fire the coach or CW needs to start being critical of his friend TJ. I think the way CW has approached this situation before the season even started was all class. How many people could put something out there for public consumption that is critical of a close personal friend.

Keep putting out good content and us realistic fans can be disappointed in the downward trend of the season but hopeful about the future and excited on where we are compared to last season.

I hadn't heard the story of Prohm listening to the CF podcast before. That is hilarious.

I have seen both him and Kyle Green mentioned for Illinois State vacancy. While obviously a bigger hit if it goes to Green, the meltdown here would be greater if it was Prohm, the hate runs that deep.

We don’t recruit against Ill. St anymore so I’d be fine with Steve going there. Good, proven low major guy.

I think you're remarkably, precisely wrong. Switch "meltdown" with "indifference" and you're on to something.

You think CF would "meltdown" because our prior coach got a job at an inconsequential mid major? That doesn't make sense. There isn't a logical path where it comes close to making sense.

Ya its a nothing burger for me.

I have no hate for Prohm. I hope he gets another college job and has great success. Similar to the situation with Greg McDermott and Fred Hoiberg. They all appear to be quality men. Just because they moved on from ISU or things didn't work out doesn't mean I want them to fail after ISU.

I don't see why one would need to continue to hate Prohm.

I kind of see him and Rhoads the same way. Both came into rosters with some talent (way more in the Prohm case, but Prohm's expectations for Year #1 and Year #2 were way higher than they ever were for Rhoads) and did something with it, rebuilt the roster in their own image to some success but never enough to "get over the hump," and then things just simply fell apart for well-litigated reasons in the end.

I choose to remember the good times with both of them. Both were honorable men who represented the university well and seemed to love Iowa State genuinely . I think either of them would have been happy to retire as Cyclones if it had worked out like that. But it didn't and everybody should move on.

The only ex-coach of my lifetime I have some genuine dislike for is Chizik.

He was a terrible coach (much worse than Prohm or Rhoads in their sport/era). And a complete *******.

Seeing him on TV still pisses me off.

Not a good comparison. Whenever you make it I feel obligated to point out the Paul R took over a 2-10 team and was fired at 3-9. Prohm inherited a pre season top ten squad and was fired at
2-22.

The standards of Iowa State basketball and football are different and, as I said, Rhoads never had the expectations on him that Prohm did when he first came to Ames.

But Rhoads did have some talent when he arrived. Chizik was an ******* but brought in some dudes.

Paul inherited talent but left Lazard, Butler, Peavy Campos, Harvey and Lanning. He left the program no worse than he found it. The same can not be said for Steve.

5 or 6 starters in fb isn't much different from 1 starter in bball. If not for Prohm, Hunter wouldn't be here. It's not that big of a difference. Both left a program in need of a total rebuild.
