I have a 1971 cougar right now.Not in high school. When I got to ISU I "inherited" my grandmother's '55 Chevy.....with a 265 with Powerglide transmission. (I did know how to drive a stick, though - the old man taught me.)
After I got out of school, I saved to buy a 1976 Mercury Cougar:

Thing was a lot of fun. Mine was handed down and my sister got it after. Thing was a hog in the snow, I would e brake it around corners like a boss.I had a twice handed down geo prism it was not in mint condition
Close college friend had a Cougar almost exact same model year (except blue). Classic! Is that a half-vinyl roof? Friend's head that (as did my '77 Phoenix). Occasionally, I miss those days.
I keep hearing about all of these "big" vehicles that people drove in high school. WHEN I was allowed to drive, it was my mother's Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser. You want to talk about land yachts...
Had an 87 Plymouth Sundance. That bad boy went 0-60 in 45 minutes.
Ya got me by a foot.Lol, my grandpa promised me his 78 Lincoln Contiental, then my grandma sold it without him knowing. That thing had to have been 30 feet long. Gpa was pissed lol. Oh well
