If you're into nature, far NE Iowa is awesome.

This is what I was going to say. I am not a small town person but you can't beat NE Iowa and SW Wisconsin when it comes to beautiful scenery, hiking, fishing and many small little towns. Just be prepared to be stared at with a "who are you and why are you here?" look on their face.

This one is pretty cool. I don't know if it is the best...

Not really an attraction, but interesting no less: but if you have an interest in finding the dude that graduated high school 2 years ago, but still drives around with windows tinted and subs blasted like 'they know', you at least shouldn't have to go far.

Sorry, was in a small town recently and saw this, and realized it's a very 'Iowa' thing (probably just small town) and it's intriguing.

Otherwise echo NE Iowa. Some good hiking and scenery with little cost.

These are old memories, but the Tulip Festival in Orange City and Oktoberfest in Remsen used to be pretty fun.

If you want to poke around junk etc, What Cheer Flea Market is this weekend. Go today or tomorrow, as Sunday is not a good day. I would normally be there set up but not happening this time. Maybe in August.
