Nice to see some indications that Mauer is back to being Mauer again for the first time post-concussion.

I've seen that a few times actually. They're saying on twitter if he can just get on base he's deadly....IF....

yeah he's the fastest guy i've seen on any team the last half season. unless he improves his average (they say it takes 1,000 at-bats to define a player though) he's gonna be relegated to the pinch-runner duty in late game situations. not a good look for the former #1 player in MiLB.

That's ridiculous - he has 173 career plate appearances. He's still a very good prospect, but he's really really young (22) for a MLB player. It wouldn't surprise me if he went back to Rochester for a while this summer - if they can live with the horrible defense in a Arcia-Rosario-Sano outfield. But to even think about him being a bust is just ridiculous.

Buxton batting 9th is likely more related to the 9th spot in the AL often being viewed as a second lead off spot where you want to have a guy with speed to set the table for the top of the order. Just keep him in a spot where he will bat the majority of the season. He will likely remain in the 9th spot until he gets his OBP high enough to justify moving him to the lead-off position.

That game yesterday was brutal. 16 innings and the Twins let it slips away twice. Once in the 9th (Jepsen!) and once in the 15th (Tonkin!). They showed O'Rourke, who was one out away from getting the W, after Tonkin and Murphy gave up the tying run. He was not happy. Anyway, this is why I don't understand using a pitcher for a few outs and then pulling him. They were down to their last reliever and They showed gibson putting on his cleats in the bullpen just-in-case.

Agree, yesterday was brutal. These guys can't get over the hump.

Hopefully they can win the series at home against Cleveland.

This team is a mess right now. Nobody has a position outside of Mauer, Suzuki and Dozier. It's a lineup full of free swinging designated hitters. The potential for power is abundant, but that isn't how the Twins won games in the 00's. They need to get back to the basics. Not panicking yet, but they have a deep hole to climb out of and I'm not sure they've got the right guys currently to rally back to .500.

IMO, they should have moved Arcia in the off season, and kept Hicks. None of the current outfielders can play a lick of D

I watch every game but I'm not sure I can anymore. When they pitch well they cant hit and when they hit they cant pitch. Today Sano ends the game trying to get a stretch triple. Escobar maybe. But not Sano.

It's getting really depressing knowing any lead will evaporate.
