My uncle wrote the screenplay for this movie, and caught so much **** at a family gathering when he was describing the project he was working on. It sounded so dumb in it's infancy. There was one where a newlywed couple starts their life together. Move to a new home, have several children, when one day the father comes home and the wife and all the children have been killed.. except 1. The father is now solely responsible for raising the child. The father is overbearing and the child just wants some freedom.
One day the child is kidnapped, the father spends the rest of the movie cheating death and searching to the deepest depths to find his kidnapped child. I believe it was called Finding Nemo.
You know, me and my brother were discussing Requiem for Dream a few years ago. He felt sympathy for the characters while I did not find the movie sad nor cared for most of the characters there. Most of them made their own bed and had to lay in it at the end.Every time I step into a Wal-Mart I feel like I'm there.
I'm not creative enough to come up with an original idea, but Requiem for a Dream is really ****ed up.

I cried my eyes out.
You have been put in charge of new movie ideas of a studio. What is the saddest movie plot you can think of? Like an entire movie of drama building up to the end and something happens that makes everyone cry in the theater?
Mine would be a couple struggling for years to have a child and finally when they can the mother dies in the delivery room.
I believe theres a "100 years of cyclone football" documentary that airs on CyTV like once a week.
pretty much the saddest movie I can think of
Grave of the Fireflies animated film from the Miyazaki studio is probably the saddest I can remember. Two young kids try to live among the radiation immediately after the nuclear bombs drop. It's such a downer I doubt if it could have even existed if it was real people and not cartoons.
Never watched it in school. I watched it when I was about 7 or 8.
