***2024 Minnesota Vikings***

O’Connell isn’t a good coach, and this game should show people what I am talking about. He just doesn’t have it in big situations. This should’ve been a win all day, and he ****** it into the ground. There is zero excuse. Dobbs experiment should be over.

What other options do they have? He did win his first 2 games as a Viking.

As a Chiefs fan, I give my sincerest condolences. :)

The Bears even screw up losing by winning. This game in the long run has no impact on their future and would be better off losing out to get the better draft choice. A few weeks ago, they had the first two picks, theirs and Carolina's, keep this up they will only have one in the top 5.

It seems to be a common narrative here that if a team loses, the coach must be terrible

Dobbs is a serviceable backup. But backups tend to be inconsistent with their play. Which is why they are backups in the first place!

If anything, this shows how valuable Cousins is to the team. I would like to see them resign Cousins to a 2 year deal for $20M a season.

Finally, I’m going to rewatch some of the Iowa State vs Kansas state game. That was far more entertaining

I’d love to know what you are smoking if you think Cousins signs for 20 a year.

The Vikings are like the Chiefs were for about 30 years, not horrible, but not really good enough to win anything. Its in a really bad position to be in, as you are never bad enough to get the top pick in the draft, and then when you do, as a Chiefs fan, it's the year where there is not a franchise quarterback to take, so we end up taking an offensive tackle that was average at best.

The Bears are not any better off, not sure Fields is the answer, but really what choice do they have, but keep him and try to get the WR from OSU and then the next best player.

I live in the twin cities. Local media believe the Vikings will ask cousins to take a discount. The general feeling is the team feels they have taken care of Cousins, and if Cousins wants to go out on top, he needs to take a discount to free up cap space to allow the team to get better supporting cast.

Fields and Dobbs are very similar. One team called a bunch of easy throws and design qb runs and that team actually moved the ball. The other team left its qb to improvise and that qb made a bunch of terrible decisions. That’s at the root of the criticism.

Like the cousins take. LOVE the k-state take!

If Kirk truly wants to retire a Viking as he says he does, he will take the discount salary. If Kirk is a lying POS then he won’t and will go to some **** team and make more and go 3-15

He should be discounted regardless when factoring his age against the severe injury he just suffered. Achilles' can **** up careers.

Agreed, but the Achilles likely will be less of a factor for Cousins than mobile quarterbacks. I mean it’s not like he runs a lot anyway. He just moves around the pocket

Just give me a guy who can make a read and throw it. I read a story earlier how Dobbs is like an astronaut and he made 10 awful throws.

I’d say we run with Hall and just see what happens. He’s got as good as chance as Dobbs to get us that 7 seed.
From IA. I was a Vikings fan the 2 years I was in Rochester, going to school. Twins fan before that as a kid.

Chiefs fan now but still have some memories of being a MN fan.

If you want him but truly think he would only win 3 games if he went to another team, discount or not, the Vikings will end the next few years in the same spot they have been their whole existence. Watching another team raise the Lombardi Trophy.

Both sides are saying the right things publicly, but I don’t think Kirk is a discount type of guy. Never has been. He’ll want closer to three years for $100 million.
What is the franchise tag number now?

QB tag is projected around $38 million next year. 3/$100 million probably would be a discount. If Kirk's recovery is going well, then I could see him pushing for something closer to 3/$110 million or maybe more considering just how many teams are QB needy.

I have always felt that many Vikings fans don't give Cousins the credit he deserved but I have trouble seeing who would pay him that. The good teams already have their quarterback and there are a decent number of potentially good quarterbacks in this year's draft that the bad teams can pin their hopes on.

Why do we hold professional athletes to higher standards than anyone else?

I want to retire with my current company, but if they start treating me like crap and not compensating me in line with my value, I'll leave. Does that make me a lying POS as well?
