What a job by KOC to right the ship this season. Especially after losing Jefferson and Cousins.
Absolutely. Can’t believe this team is 6-4 right now and sitting itself up nicely to still contend for the North or a wildcard.
ESPN highlights commented that Dobbs is not the long term QB in MN. How do they know this after his two wins?
Still don't understand the Kwesi hate. First off, he hired KOC to be the coach which appears to be a homerun. The 2022 draft doesn't look great, but Ingram and Evans are both starters and playing decent and even Booth has started to get significant defensive snaps and has looked a lot better. 2023 draft looks like a home run with Addison, Blackmon, and Roy. In the 2023 FA draft class, he convinced Pace to sign with the Vikings which looks like a homerun. Trade deadline trades for Hock and Dobbs look pretty solid, he's created a culture with KOC in Minnesota that is a top 5 culture in the league. Kwesi is still young and learning as a first time GM, and he still has his issues to work through. But overall I think he has been pretty solid the last 2 years with the directive from ownership to go through a "competitive rebuild"
We really can't say if he's a solution going forward or not at this point. He's played in two games. Let's see how the rest of the season plays out and if he establishes a connection with JJ. The remainder of the season is more or less a try out for the next 1-2 years. He would be a far cheaper QB option, freeing up much needed cap space to pay JJ and Hunter to long term deals. But if Dobbs doesn't play well the last 7 games of the season, Vikings would have to look at other QB options, even resigning Cousins, who likely would need to agree to a pay cut
I've been pretty tough on him, but I think there's as much good as bad, especially lately for a first time GM.
- KOC hire was a home run (Though get that guy a competent challenge decision maker. Yikes, worse than Zimmer at blowing challenges)
- Evans was a good find, Ingram was a decent pick, Addison has been a great pickup.
- Hockensen trade was very good
- Dobbs trade was a great value
- Later than he should've maybe, but he did finally address the interior OL w/ Risner. Ingram is getting better. He's still not good, but he has gotten better.
- The Flores hire was a no-brainer and a home run. I'm sure he'll be off to another HC job, as he should. Getting this defense to perform admirably when they are digging out from the bad contracts of the past is impressive. I think people look at the defense as a whole and don't understand the whole picture. Kwesi and Flores were pretty handcuffed cap-wise. And Metellus might be the team MVP.
- I don't like Hock's contract, but he's really stepped up with JJ out, so it's not the worst thing in the world to be paying a really good TE like the best TE.
- Cine looks like a bust
- Booth is getting snaps, but he has only played in over 25% of the snaps one time this season (vs. the Bears). At this point he's at least some decent depth, so that's encouraging.
Like others, I judged him too harshly on the top of his first draft. I think he's doing a good job.
Everything after the draft that night was that Jameson was their preferred choice at 12.
He needs to improve his hit rate on first and second round picks. You can’t have complete misses like he has and expect to compete for a divisional championship.

He's had 4 1st and 2nd round picks since he took over. From those, we have Cine, Addison, Booth, and Hock.
Cine is a miss, but overall that's not bad.
Ingram was a 2nd rounder too. And no GM will hit on every single 1st and 2nd round picks. Kwesi gets undeserved hate from the fan base but honestly he’s been pretty good. And the fact that he and KOC are in lock step is great for the future of the franchise

Good catch. I missed him. So, we've got 3 starters out of 5 picks, 1 bust, and one contributor.
I may not be following you but off the top of my head, Cine was a 2022 1st, Booth was a 2022 2nd, Ingram was a 2022 2nd, and Addison was a 2023 1st. Not sure where you’re coming up with Hockenson.
