***2024 Minnesota Vikings***

Reading various articles this morning about “Round One NFL draft grades” has been interesting. Some grade our Vikings choice as “A”, and some “F”. Not much in between. Only time will tell, I guess. Hoping for some A’s & B’s in Rounds 2 & 3!

Whose left of the OL available? They have to go that route with the next pick or two don’t they?

What is interesting about this pick is I think Kwesi really trusted his scouts and they made the pick as a team. Sounds like there were times Rick would ignore the coaches and scouts and just draft the guy he liked (Wyatt Davis), but I genuinely think the Vikings had Cine scouted as just as good of a safety as Hamilton. Time will obviously tell, but I am excited about Cine's potential.

And sure, I wish in the trade we didn't give up 46 and just had gotten 32/34, but I still don't hate it. Nobody knows how any of these guys will pan out, so we can review this in a year or two and see how good Kwesi is at drafting/scouting before turning on him one pick into his tenure

Not necessarily. They brought in some interior linemen in free agency. I think they're going to go CB with their next pick and maybe TE or edge after that. Maybe a WR, since it sounds like they were at least considering Williams at 12.

PA, Bercich, and I think one other guy had O’Connell on first then Kwesi right after. Then spoke for a little while after. It wasn’t so much what was said, but more what wasn’t. It was almost like stunned silence.
I actually streamed the video of their draft coverage and had the TV on mute the whole draft. I like the Vikings angle they do throughout the show and talk about how all the picks affect what the Vikings do. I also like that it is PA, Bercich, Ben Leber, and Paul Charchian.
Definitely had the vibe after the trade that they weren't fans of the trade - but clearly couldn't come out and bluntly say so because they are all there working for the Vikings.

That’s the same interpretation I had after listening to the two quick interviews. I think they all thought the math could’ve been better on the draft positions that were swapped, but that’s as critical as they wanted to get. Can’t remember if it was Charch or Pete who was asked to sum everything up and was pretty much “Well, the Vikings did a thing.” Lol.

That has to be hard for those guys. Can't be too critical, but silence is loud!

I really would like to see Andrew Booth taken at 34. If he is picked at 33, try to trade back and get 2 day 2 picks or a 2nd rounder in 2023. Booth reminds me of his former teammate AJ Terrell who just exploded in year 2 for ATL.

I only like the Cine pick if we are looking at 3 safety looks for 2022.. This really feels like a BPA pick and a great insurance policy for Harry's spot after he is cut this next off-season.

I have a hard time seeing us draft Willis, but I wouldn't hate it. Wouldn't shock me if the Vikings or maybe even the Bucs are leaking this to spike the trade value of 33/34

CB, then TE, then maybe a guard or linebacker.

Hopefully McCreary or Gordon at 34. Dulcich or Kolar at 66. Dylan Parham at 77.

I'm fine with a CB, but honestly, I don't think its as big of a deal as people make it out to be. The new defensive scheme is probably not going to be as dependent on lock down man to man corners. If this was still Mike Zimmer's team, I'd be more worried about CB.

I'd actually like to see Nakobe Dean at 34.

I'd be thrilled with Willis. Almost 0% chance it happens obviously because this is the Vikings and why would they ever be proactive at the most important position in sports? Especially given the weird offseason that was indistinguishable from a classic Spielman offseason.

Willis has elite upside, but obviously needs development. Sitting behind a QB like Kirk for a year or two could be a perfect situation.

If they don't go that route I think either Booth or one of the edge guys (I like Ebeketie best) would be good value at 34.

I could see the Bucs leaking that so someone will jump in front of the Vikes and the Bucs get more draft capital.

If the Vikes do take Willis at 34 it might be the dumbest move ever. If they were going to take Willis do it at 32 so you get the 5th year option and then take Cine at 34.
