That's something I've never understood. How do you get a delay of game after a timeout????
Can't blame the receivers too much with having to put their lives on the line waiting for a Dobbs throw. He has proven to be as bad as it gets at waiting too long, throwing behind the receiver, and telegraphing the target. DBs have a field day lighting up receivers constantly being put in vulnerable positions. For the second game in a row, the receivers certainly aren't helping him...but yes, the Dobbs window has passed on. Just throw Hall out there and let the season go how it goes. Bonus points for the gigantic pile of injuries today, too.
AgreedThis team has no business being the playoffs. For the future of the team, pleeeeeease just lose the remaining games and get a decent draft pick.
It ran almost all of the time off the clock. What in the hell was that pooch kick call at the end? O’Connell makes some dumbass calls.
Look at a FG kicking unit. Then look at the FG defensive unit. One is a K, P/holder and guys that are in to block. And they are going to chase down a DB running with the ball?
If you kick a live ball like that the odds of giving up a huge return are pretty high. Terrible call, got lucky.
I can theoretically understand the kick and the time-wasting quality of running the play. The execution of the actual kick and subsequently allowing a return was unconscionable. That ball should've been nuked out of orbit, the field position never mattered. It was just to take more time than a kneel or other generic play would have. What in the hell was that pooch kick call at the end? O’Connell makes some dumbass calls.
