MLB: ***2024 Minnesota Twins***

You guys… there is no scenario outside of him having a catastrophic injury that he plays with the twins after this year. He will sign a long term deal elsewhere and for money the Pohlads will never pay. Enjoy what we have now. Seize the day!

Correa is gone, dude.

I'd put it at <5% chance. Correa ain't happening.

Even when it was mentioned as a possibility, I didn't think it was realistic. Color me surprised.

I'm happy on one hand, because he a good player and if Lee or Lewis are knocking on the door in a couple years, he can slide over to 3B (depending on Miranda of course), but when 2 teams who love tossing money around get skittish, it's hard not to wonder what the Twins can got themselves into. Hopefully the shorter time frame make the issue moot.

It could blow up in their face, but I would do this 10 times out of 10. Plus, the Mets were not that skittish about 6 years, it was just too expensive for them. Twins outbid them. I'm guessing the Giants may have considered a 6 year contract too.

I read this morning that the contract is structured with more money up front, which I'm happy to see. Very smart move. No trade clause but in 5-7 years if they both feel it's time to move on, the money shouldn't be a barrier to most teams.

Twins still need to make more moves. Won’t be surprised if both Kepler and Arraez are traded yet this offseason.

Yeah, a lot of stuff they could do. Kepler, Arraez, Polanco, Larnach, Kiriloff are all candidates to be traded (not all of them will). Lot of position playing prospects could be available for the right price as well.

For example, a few reasonable trade ideas.
Pablo Lopez for Kepler, Emmanuel Rodriguez, Josh Winder and their competative balance pick.

It will be interesting to see what they could get. Generally speaking corner OF at the productivity level and injuries of Kepler aren't valuable. Arraez potentially depending on where someone has a hole and would be willing to play him in the field. If someone had a lineup with loads of power, wanted to turn some solo HR into 2R homers, and had a hole at 2B that they'd be willing to roll with Arraez might give up a lot. But I think it would take the right situation to get a good enough return for him.

If the Twins inept medical staff doesn’t think Arraez has Tony O knees, there’s no way you trade him. Kepler is much more likely, but they might want to keep him to relieve Buxton in center.

Get 3 more good relievers and a solid starting pitcher and this team should win the division. The bullpen was so bad last year

I rarely read the comments of tweets but there are absolute gems under that one.

Twins trade Arraez for Marlin’s Lopez, Salas- -their #5 prospect, and Chourio, a lower level player.
Lopez has two years of team control, Arraez has three.

Seems like a good trade for the Twins, especially if it turns out Luis has TonyO knees.

I love Arraez and will miss him, but this does seem like a really solid trade.

It made sense to trade Arraez with his value at its peak, but I was hoping maybe the Twins would figure out how to pull Alcantara from them. Lopez seems decent, but not exciting.
