MLB: ***2024 Minnesota Twins***

Canada isn't allowing an exception for sports peeps on their vaccine to enter requirement this year. Hadn't thought about this and the Twins. Yanks had a couple of guys, Judge per the chatter, that would have missed three series and nine games in Toronto against a big rival for the pennant but Judge, and maybe Rizzo to, got the shot. I was prepared to be pissed off at them. Wonder who the Twin players are, they are being mum on that, and whether these are significant guys or backups.

Per a couple of twins beat reporters, there will be some not make the trip but the number isn’t going to be big. The vast majority are vaxxed.

Loved Falvey's comment that those players told him if the Twins played the Blue Jay's in the playoffs, then they would get the shot. What great teammates.

I'd be very surprised if Royce is not back before July, but admittedly, I'm no doctor.
Probably late June at best. On one of the Twins Blog sites, a PT reported that the medium time to resume activities for 3 similar MLB injuries was 27 days. The Twins aren't going to rush Royce back to fill a utility/outfielder role when they have proven options to fill these needs. If Correa misses time again, then they would be aggressive to get him back in the lineup.

Heard Pagan is unvaccinated along with an unnamed outfielder. Wonder how many others are.
One rumor is 5, including a frontline starter. The only positive is that we might get a glimpse of some AA or even A+ guys who are not on the 40 man roster. They can fill in without having to clear a roster spot.

Kitty Kaat with a pretty amazing Twin stat today. In 49 Twins games thus far, Rocco has had 45 different starting line-ups.

Ooh, the ageless one is during the color today? Got to tune in for an inning or two.

And, just in time to hear Bremer ask Jim Kaat about throwing a good pitch that gets hit hard, "Maybe to someone like Al Kaline". Sort of appropriate I guess, they are playing Detroit, but maybe had younger fans going "Who?" It's like throwback time for an old dude like me.

Kitty has referenced about ten '60s stars thus far, including my boyhood hero, the Killer. Love it.

How are you even able to watch it?!?!?

My souvenir mini-bats from back in the 1960's. The Killer's bat is from a game in 1967 at the old Met and the Mickey one was given to me by a friend in college in the 1970's. Good guy, also gave me baseball cards for the 1961 Yanks because he knew I was a big Mantle fan.

Which is BS because entry to Canada requires it to be 14 days after the 2nd dose before you can qualify to cross. Even if they went with the Johnson single dose it's still 14 days after. Likely they would be off the roster for that series.

But you know as well as anyone it’s a moot point because Twins teams don’t win playoff series

Career minor leaguer. With the Twins system for years, released him, and brought him back after the Rays (I think) released him.
Actually he was a highly regarded prospect a few years ago who was traded to the Rays for Jake Odorizzi. Has always been a solid defender, but struggled with the bat in the Ray's system. He was released and resigned with the Twins last year. His hitting came around last year and he is still only 25 years old.

Wacky game last night for the AAA Saints. With all of the roster issues currently with the Twins, it has filtered down to the minor league level. The Saints had to go with a lineup that included 4 catchers. It got wilder after one of them was injured as a baserunner by a foul ball liner. He was replaced by a pitcher as a pinch runner.

They ended up with a catcher in LF who had never played there, a catcher at 2B who had never played there, no DH, pitchers hitting for themselves, pitchers pinch hitting for pitchers, a CF who had only played a couple of game there.

With all of this going on, they still beat the Iowa Cubs 13-3.

I was at the game last night and had no idea they were going into it with starting 4 catchers. Was a lot of fun to watch.

I will say I was pretty unimpressed with Jordan Balazovic. Lot of control issues there
