MLB: ***2024 Minnesota Twins***

While the pitching staff has been exceptional, Duffey has regressed. Not sure what is going on with him but the Twins really need his high leverage middle man role.
In the meantime, the Twins now have the best hitter in baseball.
Duffey is really struggling with command of his knuckle curve. He is not able to locate it as an effective chase pitch. It is usually so far down and out as it approaches the plate that it's an easy take for the hitter. When he tries to throw it for a strike, it floats in middle up and gets rocked.

If they want to continue the push, they need more than one more arm in the pen.

Agree, might even need another starter. If they are still leading at the break, what minor league kids, or even 40 man guys, do you see on the block?
Montas is still out there if the Twins want him.

Would love to see Gary and Gio crush it the next three games.
You know they will be extra dialed in.

In another universe, I wish like heck Sano was healthy. And Donaldson got on base and got lippy and Sano dropped with one swing.

Cotton will be back.

Cotton can help based on how he has performed, but he is not on the 40 man roster. He passed through waivers back in May, but he might not do so again if he were DFA'd in the future. He received a 40 man exemption last week as one of the covid list restricted list replacements. There would have to be an opening created on the 40 man either through a release, trade, or 60 day IL move.

He really can't help with the immediate problem which is the need for 2 more starters this week - currently down to Archer, Bundy, & Smeltzer. If it were just one spot, maybe a bullpen by committee game. They are going to have to roll the dice at least once this week with someone who is not ready for the big stage.

What?? You mean there is a need for starting pitching?!?!?

The fact that this team is above .500 is remarkable. Kind of reminds me of our men's bball team....just getting everything they can out of everyone.

They might get humbled this week but I’m with you. Get Correa and Joe Ryan back and a healthier version of Buxton and LFG

not to mention Maeda could be back sometime this year as well. The front end of the rotation can be dangerous.

Probables for Minnesota are finally out….
