I think Federer and Nadal brought tennis back from its lowest point right after Agassi and Sampras were kind of sailing into the sunset but I don't think they ever made tennis explode the way Tiger did for Golf. At least not in America, Tiger was so different from the typical Golfer though that I'm not even sure it's possible in tennis.

Globally they did that. You are 100% correct that had Federer or Nadal been American we are having a different conversation. Americans still loved these two, but Serena did it for the women in tennis. We’ve had a lot of young ladies become champions and get into the top-10. She was a different player just like Tiger. We had never seen a woman serve like she did nor hit ground strokes like she did.
Djokovic & Alcaraz heading to a 3rd set in Cincy title match. Been an insane 1st 2 sets.
And Coco Gauff won the women's title! She's on the up, would be huge if she won the U.S. Open.

Best 3 set match I've ever watched. I can't imagine 5 sets played at that level. Both players would drop dead. This was also Alcaraz's 5th straight three set match, played 5 days in a row. Insane.
I think Alcaraz was the better player but you can't let Djokovic hang around. He's the best at high leverage situations. I think I'm actually favoring Alcaraz even after the loss in a h2h rematch at the open but I think Carlos is more likely of 2 to be upset along the way
