Well deserved. Novak had his chances and blew it. Can’t win them all.

I think that was Novak's C game. Things like this can flip the tide tooWell deserved. Novak had his chances and blew it. Can’t win them all.
I don't know if I'd say anyone blew this one. Him and Alcaraz both had one stinker of a set. Outside of that this match was played at an incredibly high level. Alcaraz is the only guy with the consistent fire power to beat Djokovic when he's playing his best.Well deserved. Novak had his chances and blew it. Can’t win them all.
I was mostly talking about the missed opportunity to get a break early in the 5th. That was absolutely huge. But I agree with the rest.I don't know if I'd say anyone blew this one. Agree completely. 2nd game of 5th set 30-40 I think it was that's when momentum flipped for the final time. Novak wins that crazy point I think he wins routinely 6 2ishI was mostly talking about the missed opportunity to get a break early in the 5th. That was absolutely huge. But I agree with the rest.
You're right, I had forgotten about that game early in the set. Crazy that. 4+ hour match can be decided by a few points.I was mostly talking about the missed opportunity to get a break early in the 5th. That was absolutely huge. But I agree with the rest.
They weren't effective for most of the match, but he needed every one of them in the 5th set. Those Alcaraz drops shots on fun to see
Lol checks out - I only started watching in the 5thThey weren't effective for most of the match, but he needed every one of them in the 5th set.
Not to mention some of those cross-court winners. The guy hits angles that I didn't think existed. Those Alcaraz drops shots are fun to see
Birthday party at that point is brutal my man. 4th Set went probably like we expected. Djokovic took a breath and raised his level and carlos dipped maybe seeing the finish line and thinking about it. 5th set I thought for first time in match both played at a high level even in the 2nd set which was tight I thought both were sloppy. Game 2 was really the big moment. Djokovic still with all the momentum had a couple break points and carlos played some unreal points especially 1 on 30-40. After that carlos played just a little cleaner. This moment is actually coming up on the replay on ABCWell I was beyond wrong with how this match turned out. Egg on the face and eating crow.
So mad as I had to leave at the end of the 3rd Set for a birthday party, so I missed all the final fireworks.
You all are great to chat with in here, so depending on you to provide me a little breakdown of what happened the final two sets. I will catch the replay of course but I value all of you guys’ tennis knowledge and would love to hear your thoughts.
Perhaps. I think Federer, Serena and Nadal already did that (Novak perfected it). They made it cool to play tennis, made the game much more physically demanding, showed what kind of dedication it took, etc. Alcaraz is kind of a hybrid of all three of the Big 3, so to that for sure he is something different.Bold take:
Carlos Alcaraz will have a Tiger Woods like effect on tennis. Probably not to the same level, but it'll be close.
