***2023 Ryder Cup***

We have to get 3 full points this round to have any shot, correct?

I think it’s a misconception that America has more talent than Europe. 2 years ago, no doubt. But Rahm, McIlroy, and Hovland are better than any Americans right now. Aberg is a young phenom and FitzPatrick and Hatton are very solid.

Meanwhile we’re trotting out Morikawa, Burns, and Thomas (today notwithstanding) who’ve been playing awful this year. Plus we kind of got saddled with Harman and Wyndham Clark cause they both won majors (albeit Clark had a really nice year). But those two aren’t at the caliber of player needed to beat Europe in Europe
If the excuse is "We got saddled with two 2023 major winners," you are reaching.

I mean sort of. Just because you win a major doesn't mean you are a great and consistent golfer. The history of the game is riddled with one-hit wonders who pretty much suck the rest of the year. Just put together a great four-day run.

The European team has 8 guys ranked lower than those two. 5th and 6th in the FedEx cup. Besides, Clark is playing well. I didn't see Harman this morning so maybe he sucked but I'll take him over a few other Americans at the moment.

Clark is proving me wrong. But if I’m assembling a team (and I know Harman auto-qualified, so there was no choice) I’d probably take most of the Euro golfers over him (McIlroy, Hovland, Rahm, Hatton, Fitzpatrick, Fleetwood, Rose, and even their young guns)

Sorry I didn't necessarily mean these two guys specifically, but just an overall comment toward the "winning a major in a year" thing and making you a top-notch golfer. Winning the major obviously boosts the rankings as well.

The fact I have more faith on a 40 foot chip than any 8 footer for USA says alot. We can't putt.
