2023 NCAA MBB coaching carousel

Sure, but "proven" is a crapshoot anyway. Plenty of "proven" hires who don't work out. They have someone they know has done well there, right now
Hes never built a roster there, set a culture etc. there. We don't know that he can do those things. He never had in the past.

VCU Dayton sure has been good.
Forgot Grant coached at VCU a while ago.

Wonder if he'll move on from Dayton?

I'll be shocked if it isn't Porter Moser at Notre Dame. Devout Catholic that grew up in Chicago and has deep, deep connections in the Chicago Catholic League.

They just pushed 63 year old Mike Brey out, they aren't hiring 64 year old Francis.

It's much more likely that Darian is a candidate at Oklahoma than he is at Iowa.

If that happens, Drake the feeder program for OU coaches. :D

He won with a roster built by another coach. His head coaching resume before this is terrible. They can get someone more proven.
Agreed this same situation just played out with Texas Tech and lasted 2 years. I think Texas can get someone better for the future even though Terry held it together

Honestly, if Minnesota decided to get rid of their coach (which they should) AAR would be a great hire for them.
They should fire him but they won’t. Minnesota gives coaches a long leash plus Ben is a gopher. I already saw Souhan wrote a puff piece saying gophers need to give him more time and they can’t judge for another few seasons.

Unfortunately in CBB, you can’t really wait years to get good. If you don’t win your team transfers away too quickly. Winning is what retains players.
