*** 2023 Chicago Bears ***

This team suuuuuuuuuuuucks. But so do literally all of my teams, so kinda feels like the right time to just stop being a sports fan at all.

Are the Bears the only team in the NFL where the owners' sole business is the NFL franchise?

I think the move to Arlington Park can be regarded as a good news of you want them to sell. Pump up the value and sell out sometime around 2028?
I’m looking forward to finding out how they manage to **** up building the new stadium. As a Bears fan, I just know they’re going to **** up, the intrigue is how.

Nebraska is cursed, there’s no other explanation. The Bears have the McCaskeys, there’s no other common denominator.

The bears offense makes ISU look creative. I cant understand why they don’t run fields more. Dude is a beast and he gets 4 carries… most of them scrambles. Instead they throw these screens which are horribly blocked and have no chance at positive yards. Take a page out of the ravens and put some designed QB runs in your game plan.

They already did.

They took an iconic football stadium that needed to be refurbed and completely ****** it up. Not only with the spaceship look but they took one of the leagues smaller stadiums, in one of it's biggest markets, and made it even smaller by capacity.

Everything that family touches gets ****** up, and it won't likely change until the team is sold.

The city ain't helping either. The debt on the renovation is still sitting out there.

The Bears are now in a scuffle about taxes on the new location. This has been a slow motion stadium **** up since Papa Bear was alive.

Same here. Bears and Cyclones looked like dogsh!t the last two weeks and the Cubs are tanking.

When do the ISU basketball teams start up?

My basketball season already looks dumb because the Bulls are dumb, not sure what to expect from ISU.

I kinda feel like the only thing worth paying attention to from now until next fall is Connor Bedard. My personal sports landscape just freaking sucks otherwise.

The one thing I don't understand is the lack of creativity by Getsy THIS year. Go back and watch some of those games mid-season, where the Bears were putting up lots of points, even against the likes of defenses such as Dallas. They utilized Field's legs, lots of misdirection and TE slips, and got a lot of forward push from the line. Missing Tevin Jenkins is huge, the dude is probably one of the best run blockers in the entire NFL let alone the team, but everything is off so far. No creativity in using Fields, not as much misdirection, and the running game has been abysmal.

I thought Getsy did one of the best jobs in the NFL last year. He had a young QB, a line that couldn't pass block, and a terrible receiving corps. He had good backs, a QB that could run, Kmet, and Mooney. He took what he had and made them extremely effective. The Bears probably win at least 6 games with an average defense last year with the output they got out of that bunch.

I have no idea what the hell he's doing right now. Time to go back to the drawing board.

Great time to be a Cubs, Bears, and ISU fan right now.

Yup, though the Cubs were playing with "house money" this year. I mean, this year was a rousing success, even if they don't make the playoffs (which would be disappointing given the collapse).

At least I caught them on a hot streak when they beat the Braves last month. Dunston jersey magic never fails.

The Vikings will play the Bears twice... both are terrible. I predict both games end up in a 3-3 tie. With 5 turnovers each.

Oh the Vikings will go wild in both games. Vikings by a couple of TDs

The Bears are a special kind of bad. Unless they gel soon it's going to look a lot like last season

You can say that about a lot of sports franchises and the owners.

True, however the McCaskeys are a tier above the others. With their storied team in a city full of die hard fans, there should be no reason to be making the puzzling and penny-pinching moves they've made for decades. Bears have been cycling through poor GM/HC/QB for decades and nothing has changed.

Just think at one time Chicago had Tribune Co, Dollar Bill Wirtz, and Jerry Reinsdorf as the owners (along with the McCaskeys). Chicago has had some bad luck with ownership in a die-hard sports city.

Look at the bright side. They get to play the Chiefs this week.

13 points is tough given the state of the Chiefs receiving corps but I'm considering it. The first two weeks were pretty easy betting opportunities but it seems Vegas has finally caught on to how bad Chicago is.
