2023 B1G FB Schedule Released

Do they play Rutgers every year? They sure lucked out there. I understand a protected rivalry for Purdue and Indiana but does everyone need a rival in the other division? It seems like they could easily rotate other teams in.

I thought the Big10 was going to eliminate divisions for selecting CCG teams. Are they still scheduling based on divisions?

Next year is the last year of these divisions. I don’t think a decision has been made as to what they’re going to next though. The conference having every single ******* game be a rivalry is why they’re having trouble with the no divisions thing because every single game is basically protected.

Misses both U-M and Ohio State, definitely helps, but Northwestern's overall schedule is worse. Misses both of those + MSU, gets both Maryland and Rutgers, has to face Penn State, but it's at home ... and non-conference is UTEP, at Duke and Howard. Can get to 7 or 8 wins quite comfortably.

Iowa always has an easy schedule. This year they had the centennial situation of Mich and OSU but next year is beyond Charmin soft if you look at those therms this year to date.

It's funny because after they finish this season like 5-7 or something and their fans are up in arms...nothing will be done. But this easy schedule next year will disguise how bad they still are despite them racking up easy wins so Barta won't do anything.

2023 will be the 5th time since 2013 that Iowa hasn't faced either Michigan or Ohio State in the regular season.

I don't know, as bad as their offense is they can lose a lot of games even with a soft schedule.

Why do they seem to play Penn State every other year but only play Ohio State twice in a decade?
Good question. Is Penn State considered one of their "main rivals" so they play them more?

Playing Ohio State twice every ten years sure is the sign of a healthy, well-adjusted conference … can’t wait until the Super 2 conferences grow to 24 teams apiece and teams only play each other 3 times a century.

Ironically they will probably end up seeing Michigan and tOSU more often. Getting rid of divisions is going to expose Iowa.
