***2023-24 NCAA FB coaching carousel***

Well I wonder who UCLA will hire now? Not an easy job at a school that has some money issues right now.
Had the exact same thoughts. With how unattractive CFB HC jobs are currently, I could see this being a very underwhelming hire.

I'd think Campbell would be considered for this one. I figured Washington, Michigan State, etc. wouldn't want Campbell. UCLA is a tier below those jobs though, and I could see there being mutual interest here

Of the 133 FBS coaches (counting the reclassifying schools)...

75 have 0-2 years HC experience at their current school (started 2022, 2023, or 2024)

22 have 3-4 years (started 2020 or 2021)

21 have 5-9 years (including second stints for Jeff Tedford and Don Brown)

15 have 10+ years (including second stints for Mack Brown and Greg Schiano)

I was listening to a pod cast with Greg LaFluer (The dude of Minnesota) and he was convince PJ Fleck was going to UCLA.. LOL

UCLA can do much better
I don't know if they can. That's not a great job. They're allegedly way behind on NIL and are going to be playing road games in their home stadium for the next few years.

I actually think Minnesota is a better job but Phil's ego fits better in California.

I never thought I'd ever see the day where a coach willingly left a Big 10 head coaching job to be a coordinator at a different Big 10 school.

The real amazing part is everyone is basically nodding and saying "yeah that makes sense"

As for PJ, he's reached his peak at Minnesota, it's probably smart to move on now while he still has some ability to get another decent job.
