***2023-24 Mens College Basketball Thread***

"Upstart" is an odd term for ESPN to use for a team that's won a national championship four years ago and has been ranked in the top ~10 much of the time for the past decade.

Who is the most over-rated player in the Big 12?
  • Max Abmas?
  • Kerr Kriisa?
  • KJ Adams?

Why does Purdue play every Sunday on CBS?
I assume the Big 10 deal the Sunday timeslot must be filled and the only team the B!G with any real national draw is Purdue. Who else in the conference would it be bad years for Indiana, Michigan and MSU? It doomed us to seeing Painter every Sunday in a stand alone game.

I believe there's Michigan-Ohio State game on CBS on the last day of the regular season. That'll put the absolute perfect bow on the Big Ten season.

3 of the bottom 4 teams in the Big Ten are Ohio State, Indiana and Michigan. Let that sink in for a moment.
Indiana basketball fans and Nebraska footballs fans are very similar, out of touch and living in the past.

My favorite argument from a has-been fanbase is the whole "The sport is a better when we're relevant" angle. How self absorbed can you get? Like the rest of us are thinking "you know this season is pretty good, but I just can't help but feel it'd be a little bit better if the Hoosiers were in the top 25". It's one of the dumbest perspectives a fanbase can have.

But, by all means, make another hire there where everybody instantly goes 'yeah, that's not gonna work'...

The Big East has three teams that are tourney locks, maybe two more on the bubble.

Why is there a narrative that this is the best conference again?

I'm a bit surprised to see Maryland in there as well.

Were they supposed to struggle this season? Or are they underachieving compared to pre-season expectations?
