2023-2024 Schedule

Speaking of Humboldt they will have a freshman on the team next year who is going to be a top rated national recruit when all is said and done.
He won MS Super 32
USAW Folkstyle National Champ
Multiple AAU state Championships
Just won the Cadet US Open in Freestyle and was the Runner-up in Greco
Tulsa Champ, Preseason Nationals Champ, etc etc etc

To clarify, I think he won U15 US Open. Cadets aligns with the U17.

Either way, super impressive resume. Will be interesting to watch him develop. He train at the CRTC at all?

You’re right U15. Another kid I like even better that’ll be a freshman is the Bettendorf kid at 190. Youngblont is an absolute stud. HWT from Central DeWitt is a beast. SEP Desalvo (sp?) will be a contender at 106 next year. Ton of stud kids in that class. Will be fun watching them develop the next 4 years.

Ok... I'll say it: I do not like the Wisconsin dual in Humboldt at all. It should be in Ames. More fans = more awesome. Make Utah Valley wrestle there.

Wisconsin's event in Jacksonville last year was held in a 1,300-seat gym. Maybe this was a condition of the return trip.

What would be your prediction for this dual next year? We have to get ahead of the VT’s and NC state’s on a consistent basis.

IF we get Feldkamp:

125: NC State slight favorite (toss-up if Kysen is back and healthy)
133: NC State slight favorite (I think Grice will surprise people)
141: NC State slight favorite
149: Iowa State favorite (Swiderski or Paniro are both better than Arrington)
157: NC State slight favorite (by the time March comes around, I would not be surprised if I have this as Iowa State favored but Scott is an All-American and Chittum has to prove it)
165- Iowa State heavy favorite
174- Toss-up
184- Iowa State favorite
197- NC State heavy favorite
Hwt- Iowa State favorite

Doesn't look great on paper right now, but plenty of summer for the staff to develop guys like Grice, Frost, Perryman, Kysen, Redding at the lower weights to flip some of those results.

Would make a heck of a dual in January or February. Like you said, lots of slight favorites but toss up matches that would make for a great dual. Can’t wait to see what we have this year in the frost boys, Perryman, and Grice
