2023-2024 MBB computer projections thread

With a couple of exceptions, "Front-9" of ISU schedule could be a mine field, if NET numbers stay close to the current level … That’s good news for Quad opportunities, but might not look pretty in W-L column.

(NET as of 12/7)
(16) at Oklahoma
(2) Houston
(164) Oklahoma State
(1) at BYU
(44) at TCU
(96) Kansas State
(15) Kansas
(6) at Baylor
(63) at Texas
Really need to not trip up with Oklahoma State

The Big12 opening schedule looks nasty for ISU. They will need CuJo, Omaha, and Ward as contributors. The rest of the team looks well established.

First game back how much can we expect Ward to play? My guess he gets eased into the lineup. Maybe 10 mins in the opener? These next 4 games will tell us if Omaha is going to be able to contribute into conference play.

Not necessarily.

It could be mid-February when the light comes on for him as he chips away at things.

Just ahead of Princeton and Indiana State lol. I think the net needs some time to sort some things out
It needs more data to be more accurate, but it bodes very well for the big 12 to have as many high ranking teams as possible at the start of league play. It serves to cushion losses and inflate wins for NET as the conference season takes over the schedule.

Current rankings before todays game:

Net - 10th
barttorvik - 19th
kenpom - 20th
EvanMiya - 20th
Massey - 28th
Coaches Poll - tied 33rd
AP - Not receiving votes

*For some reason Sagrin hasn't updated for this year yet
I believe I saw on Twitter that Jeff Sagarin is no longer doing his ratings.

Damn did he say why?
If I remember right, there wasn't a statement from him, just a national writer saying that Sagarin wouldn't be included in the selection committee's metrics this year because he's no longer doing it. Definitely too bad to lose his ratings from that group, with his long, solid track record.

Hey Princeton is 5-0 on the road. Unlike lowly Baylor, OU, and KU who all haven't even played a road game yet.
