I seem to recall an inadvertent whistle costing us a big play in the early 2000s. I feel like it was a home game against Colorado.

It was the refs mistake to stop the clock during the play. Once the error had been made, they really didn't have any choice but to put the time back on.

I think they will be hot for a minute . I think Riley is a soft coach . He will be the hot coach for a minute. However, his teams at OU were over valued and there defense was never good

I get why it seems that way, but there's no other way for it to work. If a ref accidentally blows a whistle, it has to be the end of the play. You can't have players playing beyond the whistle, even if it's inadvertent and in error. There's just no way for it to be any other way. A whistle can't be subjective, no matter when it's blown. Because if players can keep playing beyond a whistle, it opens up possibilities of all kind of stuff you don't want to happen.
