I searched Twitter and couldn't find any new lists. Granted we haven't seen anything other than ISU just reaching out to those guys, so hard to tell how heavily involved TJ is/was.

Siap. I didn't see this one mentioned in all the talk about Kalscheur's shortcomings and I haven't followed this thread religiously.
Highly decorated out of high school. It'd be his 2nd transfer so he'd have to sit unless he gets a waiver but it sounds like there are some family circumstances so maybe he'd have a shot. Nice size and skill set and we'd fit the "closer to home" bill.

I felt a bit the same way in one of the video's I watched. But after watching a couple other video's I saw a different player. Vander Plas is not a top level athlete, but neither was Georges Niang.
I was most impressed with Vander Plas' passing for a big guy. He would definitely be an upgrade in the high post offense we ran last season (pass/shoot/dribble). I don't see him as someone who can guard in space at the P5 level, so he would have to be paired with another post player who could.
It will definitely be interesting to see who goes after him. From a pure skill set perspective, he's absolutely what I think Iowa State wants/is looking for. I know I've seen Minnesota fans basically say he's theirs to lose but who really knows? If he could get a waiver I'm not sure there would be a much better option for a versatile big to round out the starting lineup for ISU next year.
And remember during the first part of the season (nonconference) most of us/you were strongly attached to the belief that Gabe was a good (or could be a good) 3 point shooter. I made a point earlier than most, that Gabe shouldn't shoot as many 3's and should be coached not to shoot as many long balls. I got sort of lambasted by many.
Turns out he never got much better at the 3. But as the season progressed he stopped taking as many 3's. He started diving to the hoop, shot the midrange quite well, and continued to be a great teammate and strong defender.
I think Gabe adapted well and would be happy if he came back next year, picking up where he left off. He has a role and a very good one. But he's not a 3 point shooter.
If you mean you felt the same way as in Rebraca vibes, I think we should be honest that although Flip is fun to rag on, he didn't exactly have an issue moving up to the Big 10. Granted, the Big 10 is no Big 12.
Rebraca's eFG%, rebound %, block %, free-throw rate, and defensive/offensive ratings all stayed the same or got better when going from UND to Iowa. His overall quality of play didn't really drop, just minutes, and of course usage with the Murray's and others. He certainly did not see much degradation in the stats typically associated with athletic ability/size.
BVP is even more skilled, playing in a better conference, on a better team in Ohio. The skills and role he has generally translate well imo. If BVP were a high usage guy, I'd be a more hesitant, but 3P shooting at the 4 should carry over. The low rebound % won't change imo.
Didn't see Butler listed on his original list of who was showing interest...unless I missed it.
Thad Matta getting hired and him getting up to speed on the portal could have caused a delay in them reaching out. Butler is going to be a problem with him

Not sure about that I guess. Williams would gave been in his 5th year if he came back. Very easily could see it being the same deal as Conditt where it was just time for him to go make money
