2022 Football post mortem/looking forward

This is the last post I will make regarding this issue because I don't want to derail the thread any further.

As the bold points out I've never claimed to be a star player. I walked on, played special teams my Jr and Sr years, earned a scholarship and was a letter winner. Those are the facts and I have never claimed otherwise. You can not like that but quite frankly I don't care.

Back to the topic at hand.
At least you finally tackled something

Who cares if ST is a dedicated coach, an additional responsibility or spread out. It's apparent we don't have anyone with the expertise in any area of ST. I doubt anyone on staff is knowledgeable to coach a FG kicker on technique.
I don't think field goals are the responsibility of the coaches other than ensuring the kicker has an opportunity to get them off. It's on the kicker to make the kicks. I thought the rest of our special teams play was acceptable and better than last year.

Answer the real question about your bonafides!!!!!!

1. Did you every show up to parties at ISU wearing your game worn Cyclone jersey to impress the ladies.

2. Did it impress the ladies, if you know what I mean
You’re wanting to know if that game jersey in the for sale thread will up your chances, aren’t you???

Will we be pleasantly surprised when the new coaches walk out on the field for the first game next fall?
I don’t know what the breaking news is but Ken Miller named two offensive coaches he knew were out on Monday or Tuesday.

A couple of other team coaching notes...Leipold from KU just received a pay raise...doubling his current salary to $7M per year with assistants receiving a combined $3M per year, along with a $300M pledge to upgrade the stadium. NW coach fired a number of assistant coaches, although the coaching seat is as hot as Frost's was this year.

Best coaching deal in the Big 12 by far...KSU with Kleiman...$2.7M per year...plus performance bonuses.
What is Matt set to make next year and where does that rank in the conference?

This thread is pretty amusing. I'm learning a few things anyway. Now I know who Curt is. I have more info on ST coaches than I ever wanted and I still don't know what MC should do, except that the team sucked a bit this year and I'm hoping something big changes.

Oh, and playing for the light weight 7th grade football team has not prepared me for any of this...

Where is the varsity men's tennis thread. I'm qualified there.

I actually appreciate ISUFBCurt's posts.

And if he indeed was a walk-on at ISU, that means something.

They have to do everything the scholarship players do. For free.

That is a huge commitment.

Walk-ons make the scholarship players much better, and are invaluable to a successful football program.

I'm known for a sharp tongue in regards to highly paid staff that underperform, but I'm not going to knock a fellow ISU alum and Cyclone fan that actually has valuable insight into what it means to play football in the Big 12.

Well by golly we can agree on something. Walking on and earning a scholarship at Iowa State also means he was a better high school football player than just about anybody on this board I’d guess.
