2022/23 Coaching Staff Changes

Head coach. Stud. Unlike this dude. You go your way, I'll go mine. Thought we'd advanced more as a program to mentor coordinators.

Lowest donations in the B12 and most of P5; who exactly are we going to outbid at “high level”? I’m all for change, when warranted; but someone has to pay for it and too many fans in our base are expecting someone else to do it.

We’re not flooded with money like others, we’re not poor either so getting that P5 awesome OC was just not gonna happen. So go after the best offense in MAC/MWC. If this rumor is true he’s got the best offense in the MAC and has experience. Lots of successful guys have obviously been hired up so hopefully this is the case as well. Also I’m hopeful he hires a ST coordinator very important imo.

We need to elevate our Brand, elevate our Cash Otherwise the best we can expecct is Mac level staff. Heacock is a stud, CMC I think is there or can get there, but were not in play right now for the proven power 5 coaches, we need to develop them just like our players.
a developmental program might need to develop coaches.

For S&C, it's mostly important that we criticize the approach of the current guy and get excited about the methods of the new guy, even though we really aren't hearing anything or know much about the process there. That's the key to me.
The new guy is innovative in his approach and really connects with the player. The old guy was stuck in his ways and couldn't relate to today's player. I think I'm on the right track here.

Ohio was 11th in the country in passing for the 2022 season. I would LOVE that. Also some good stats on red zone scoring and 16th in time of possession.

Efficient throwing, scoring in the red zone, and control the clock. That SCREAMS CMC

Ohio has two offensive coordinators. Which one we want? The one who also coaches quarterbacks or the one who also coaches the line

At least a solid 7.5 out of 10. Could have included some pretend knowledge of s/c systems for a bit more and an "I always suspected his approach wouldn't work but didn't want to say anything out of respect to Campbell" for full points and maybe some extra credit.

Best case and most realistic, I'm guessing is Manning becomes o-line coach and run game coordinator. Ohio QB coach becomes the QB coach and passing game coordinator.

Gordan and Myers blasted into the sun. Hire a full time recruiting coordinator and special teams coach.

Also, never trust a guy that's only one dangling letter away from having two first names.

Don’t rule out the S&C coach’s impact on the line. Andrews did an unreal job with our defensive guys but it’s possible his technique limited the ability of our offensive line.

We rotated or Dline a lot this year also. Seemed to have a little less rotation on the Oline than in the past. May be why the D didn’t seem as gassed since they were getting more breaks.

He’s only been an OC for one year. This was exactly my concern when CMC originally came to Iowa State. Just brought his whole crew. A lot with really minimal qualifications for a P5 job. Hopefully this is just baseless speculation.
