2022-2023 MBB computer projections thread

In the last month, we're 25th according to Torvik...
I know what you are getting to... But the last month we've played with our best shooter and perimeter defender fighting a back injury.. After tonight, 11 of the last 12 have been Q1 games.. Our loan loss outside of Q1 is to a team #42 in the NET (#37 before last night's loss)

Guys, I'm not saying we're bad. I'm just saying ranking us 23rd isn't a crime against humanity.

And using the committee's rankings as a guide/talking point against the AP Poll is dumb. They aren't intended to measure the same thing.

I don’t think anyone said that? The thorn I see is this one jackass ranking NW and not ranking ISU. That’s ******* laughable but you aren’t laughing.

The AP poll is generally a hybrid of "what's your resume" and "how good are you".

The former and the latter could both be described by the committee and kenpom respectively, both of which have us as a top 15 team.

What has us lower? Morons who vote for the AP who have conference biases and dont understand just how tough the big 12 is, while not factoring in SOS at all.

#15 on cbs top 25 +1. If I want some subjective rankings that is the be all end all.

Agreed. The poll also is heavily based on recency. Since beating Texas, we're 3-6.

Exactly, we have 9 losses right now and most likely 10 after tonight and February still has a week left. That's not a Top 12 seed.

Well the committee disagrees with your expert opinion.

Luckily the committee doesn't just look at the wins and losses number they actually dive in and see the power of the teams we've played. The committee made it blatantly obvious they value the strength of schedule over inflated win/loss numbers.

Yeah, because it was a snapshot of where things stood Saturday. We'll most likely have 12 losses going into the tourney, has a team ever gotten a 3 seed with that many losses?

I personally don't care about "has a team ever" arguments, we aren't using 1990 qualifications anymore. The facts say the big 12 is so far ahead in strength of schedule that losses aren't going to be a big deal. We aren't getting penalized for losing at KSU and at Texas.

Just look at TT being on the bubble with their record.
